(b) By adding to the Manawatu Goods Transport Control Committee the following additional member under paragraph (a):

R. I. Ryan, Ryans Transport, Ltd., Taihape.

(4) Taihape Goods Transport Control District and Committee.—By revoking the constitution of the Taihape Goods Transport District and the appointments of the members of the Taihape Goods Transport Control Committee.

(5) Rotorua Goods Transport Control Committee.—By revoking in the appointments of the Rotorua Goods Transport Control Committee the name E. Gilligan, and substituting therefor the name E. Gilliam.

(6) Southland West Goods Transport Control District and Committee and Southland East Goods Transport Control District and Committee.—(a) By revoking in the descriptions of the Southland West Goods Transport Control District and Southland West Goods Transport Control Committee respectively the word “West,” and substituting therefor the word “East.”

(b) By revoking in the descriptions of the Southland East Goods Transport Control District and Southland East Goods Transport Control Committee respectively the word “East,” and substituting therefor the word “West.”

(c) By revoking in the Southland West Goods Transport Control Committee (so described pursuant to the last preceding paragraph) the appointment under paragraph (b) of H. R. Williams, and by substituting therefor the appointment of H. Hunter, Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Wyndham.

(7) Central Taranaki Goods Transport Control Committee.—By revoking in the Central Taranaki Goods Transport Control Committee the appointment under paragraph (b) of C. G. Trotter, and substituting therefor the appointment of R. G. Porter, N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Hawera.

(8) North Taranaki Goods Transport Control Committee.—By revoking in the North Taranaki Goods Transport Control Committee the appointment under paragraph (b) of C. G. Trotter, and substituting therefor the appointment of B. H. Chapman, Newton, King, Ltd., New Plymouth.

(9) Taumarunui Goods Transport Control Committee.—By adding to the Taumarunui Goods Transport Control Committee the appointment under paragraph (a) of W. H. E. Hayes, Carrier, of Taumarunui.

(10) Auckland Taxi-cab Control Committee.—By revoking in the Auckland Taxi-cab Control Committee the appointment of C. D. Bowler, and by adding the following appointment:

(11) Wairoa Taxi-cab Control District and Committee.—By adding to Part II the following District and Committee:

Approval of Testing Officers under the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940.

IN terms of Regulation 5 of the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby approve, until further notice, of the persons named in the Schedule hereunder being Testing Officers under the said regulations.

Exemption Order under the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940.

PURSUANT to the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby order and declare that the provisions of clause (1) of Regulation 7 of the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940, so far as they relate to drivers of heavy trade-motors, shall not apply to Leslie Andrew Fraser, of Invercargill, Morris Elwyn Johnston, of Katikati, Harry Charles Linn, of Normanby, William Desmond Watty, of Waitara, and William Bruce Sullivan, of Whakatane.

Exemption Order under the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940.

PURSUANT to the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby order and declare that the provisions of clause (1) of Regulation 7 of the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940, so far as they relate to drivers of heavy trade-motors, shall not apply to Leonard Charles Breakwell, of Tinwald, and Colin Rainey, of Seddon.

Notice as to Area in Southland Land District declared to be a Fire District.

PURSUANT to section 27 of the Forests Act, 1921–22, I hereby notify that on the recommendation of the Director of Forestry and the Land Board of the district the area described in the Schedule hereto is hereby declared by me to be a fire district, and I do further specify the period from the 15th day of August in any year to the 31st day of May in the following year, inclusive, as the period during which it shall not be lawful for any person within the said district, save pursuant to the written permit of a Forest Officer, to set on fire or cause to be set on fire any timber (whether standing or not), or any undergrowth, or any debris from forest operations or land-clearing operations, or any grass or other specially inflammable material without taking such precautions as may be prescribed by a Forest Officer.


SCHEDULE.

SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SOUTHLAND CONSERVANCY.

Monowai-Lillburn Fire District.

ALL that area in the Southland Land District, Wallace County, containing approximately 103,400 acres, situated in Cleughearn, Monowai, Hauroko, Lillburn, Rowallan, and Alton Survey Districts, and bounded generally as follows: Commencing at a point on the Waiau River in line with the south-western boundary of Section 2, Block I, Monowai Survey District; thence generally towards the east by the Waiau River to a point in line with the northern boundary of Section 9, Block XIII, Lillburn Survey District; towards the south by Sections 9, 6, and 7, Block XIII, and Section 2, Block XII, Lillburn Survey District, to a point due north of the north-eastern corner of Section 4, Block XII aforesaid; thence in a southerly direction by a right line to the north-eastern corner of Section 4 aforesaid; thence generally towards the east by the eastern side of a bridle track, the crossing of the Lillburn, and by Section 6, Block VII, Lillburn Survey District; towards the north-east by the northern side of the Lillburn Valley Road to a point opposite the north-western corner of Section 10, Block II, Lillburn Survey District; towards the east and north by Section 10, Block II aforesaid; towards the east by Section 18, Block I, Lillburn Survey District, Domain Road and Section 12, Block III, Lillburn Survey District; towards the north by Section 12 aforesaid and Section 11, Block I, Lillburn Survey District; towards the east by Sections 1, 2, 3, and 4, Block II, Alton Survey District; towards the south by Sections 15, 14, 13, and 12, Block XI, Alton Survey District, and Sections 11, 10, and 8, Block VI, Alton Survey District; towards the west by Sections 10 and 9, Block V, Alton Survey District; towards the south by Section 9, Block V aforesaid; towards the west by Sections 4 and 3, Block V aforesaid; towards the south by Section 3, Block V aforesaid, Sections 7 and 2, Block IV, Alton Survey District, and Sections 11 and 2, Block IV, Rowallan Survey District, to a point in line with the eastern boundary of the Sounds National Park; thence by a right line to the south-eastern corner of the Sounds National Park; towards the west by the Sounds National Park and the Monowai Scenic Reserve to Lake Monowai; towards the north-west by Lake Monowai and the Monowai River to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 1, Block VI, Monowai Survey District; thence south-easterly by a right line from that point to Geodetic Station (Sunnyside), and by a right line to the north-western corner of Section 1, Block VII, Monowai Survey District; towards north-east by Sections 1 and 2, Block I, Monowai Survey District, and a reserve along the Waiau River to the point of commencement. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 200/9, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Election of Member of Marlborough Land Board.

I, GEORGE IVAN MARTIN, Returning Officer for the election of a member of the Marlborough Land Board, do hereby notify, in accordance with the provisions of section 47 of the Land Act, 1924, and the regulations made thereunder, that the only person nominated for the vacancy occurring on the said Board was Albert Henry Nees, of Hillersden.

I do therefore declare that the said Albert Henry Nees is duly elected a member of the Marlborough Land Board for a term of two years as from 18th day of January, 1943.
