Date of Election by Fire-insurance Companies to fill Extra-ordinary Vacancy on the Dunedin Metropolitan Fire Board.

PURSUANT to the Fire Brigades Act, 1926, and the rules made thereunder, the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act doth appoint Friday, the 12th day of December, 1941, to be the date for holding the election of one member of the Dunedin Metropolitan Fire Board by the fire-insurance companies concerned, such election being held to fill the extraordinary vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr. W. W. Johnstone.

The Lemon Marketing Regulations 1940.—Notice fixing Prices of certain Grades.

PURSUANT to Regulation 5 : 1 of the Lemon Marketing Regulations 1940, I hereby fix the following prices per bushel to be paid by the Marketing Department for lemons of fancy grade and commercial grade respectively delivered to the Department during the undermentioned period.

The prices are fixed on an average basic price of 6s. 4½d. for sufficient fruit which when cured will pack a bushel case.

Period of delivery (both days inclusive): 1st December to 15th December, 1941—

Loose packed fresh lemons, Fancy Grade .. 4 6
Loose packed fresh lemons, Commercial Grade .. 4 0

The Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act, 1925.—Notice of Proposed Cancellation of Registration.

NOTICE is hereby given that, pursuant to an application in that behalf made to me by the Inangahua Gold and Coal Miners’ Industrial Union of Workers, registered number 82, situated at Reefton, and in exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 22 of the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act, 1925, it is my intention to cancel the registration of that industrial union after the expiration of six weeks from the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette, unless in the meantime cause is shown to the contrary.

Fish Canning.

AN application has been received from Messrs. Seafoods Ltd., Auckland, for a variation in the conditions of its existing fish-canner’s license so as to enable the company to establish and operate a branch factory at Tauranga for the canning of fish.

Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on this application, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish them in writing not later than the 18th December 1941.

AN application has been received from J. B. Lidgard, Hanor Street, Auckland, for a license to take fish for sale by means of the 40 ft. fishing-vessel (being constructed), using long lines and hand-lines, catches to be landed at Auckland.

Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on this application, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish them in writing not later than the 18th December, 1941.
