Appointments in the Public Service.

THE Public Service Commissioner has made the following appointments in the Public Service:—

Leonard Griffith North

to be Registrar of Marriages for the District of Tokomairiro for the purposes of the Marriage Act, 1908, and Registrar of Births and Deaths for the District of Tokomairiro for the purposes of the Births and Deaths Registration Act, 1924, on and from the 4th day of November, 1941.

Walter Abel Trask

to be Registrar of Electors and Returning Officer for the Electoral District of Wairarapa for the purposes of the Electoral Act, 1927, and Returning Officer for the Wairarapa Licensing District for the purposes of the Licensing Act, 1908, and its amendments, on and from the 7th day of November, 1941.

John Norman Rauch

to be Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Lyttelton, on and from the 17th day of November, 1941.

William Keith Dick

to be Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Masterton, on and from the 1st day of December, 1941.

Jack Stansfield

to be Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Herekino, on and from the 17th day of November, 1941.

CORRIGENDUM.

In the notice published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 88 of 6th November, 1941, page 3356, under the heading “Appointments in the Public Service,” for “James Alfred Goodyer to be Registrar of Marriages, &c., on and from the 22nd day of September, 1941,” read “James Alfred Goodyer to be Registrar of Marriages, &c., on and from the 10th day of October, 1941.”

Napier Bread Delivery Scheme 1941 approved.

PURSUANT to Regulation 3 of the Delivery Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of Supply, being satisfied that all the vendors of bread (otherwise than by sale over the counter) in the district specified in the scheme referred to in the Schedule hereto are parties to the scheme or have been given an opportunity of becoming parties thereto, doth hereby approve the said scheme.

SCHEDULE.

NAPIER BREAD DELIVERY SCHEME 1941.

  1. For the purposes of the scheme—
    “ The commodity ” means bread :
    “ The district ” means the Borough of Napier, the Town District of Taradale, and portion of the Hawke’s Bay County as bounded by a red line on the plan :
    “ The plan ” means the plan of the district deposited for the purposes of the scheme in the Head Office of the Transport Department at Wellington under No. 3292.

  2. The scheme shall come into operation on the day following the date of the publication in the Gazette of notice of the approval of the scheme by the Minister of Supply.

  3. The party to the scheme is the Napier District Bakeries, Ltd., of Napier, which is therefore entitled to deliver the commodity in the district.

Exemption Order under the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940.

PURSUANT to the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby order and declare that the provisions of clause (1) of Regulation 7 of the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940, so far as they relate to drivers of heavy trade-motors, shall not apply to James Macklow of Hastings.

Exemption Order under the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940.

PURSUANT to the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby order and declare that the provisions of clause (1) of Regulation 7 of the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940, so far as they relate to drivers of heavy trade-motors, shall not apply to Noel McLean of Waimate.

Fixing Date on which certain Returns under the Fire Brigades Act, 1926, are to be furnished.

Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 26th November, 1941.

PURSUANT to section 28 of the Fire Brigades Act, 1926, it is hereby notified that the returns showing the total gross amount of the premiums received by or due to fire-insurance companies during the year ended 31st December, 1941, shall be transmitted to the Fire Boards concerned in the manner prescribed by the said section on or before the 28th day of February, 1942.
