- LICENSE SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS.
This license is issued under the Water-power Regulations 1934, the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1935, and the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935, and is subject thereto and to any regulations made or to be made in amplification or amendment thereof or in substitution therefor.
- UTILIZATION OF WATER AND LOCATION OF HEADWORKS.
Water shall be used under this license solely for the purpose of generating electricity up to a maximum capacity of two kilowatts at 230 volts direct current, and shall be taken from the stream at the point in Section 329, Waioeka Parish, Block XII, Opotiki Survey District, indicated on the plan marked P.W.D. 111066, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.
- GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORKS.
The licensee is hereby authorized, subject to the conditions hereof, to construct, maintain, and use the following works for the purposes of this license, the approximate positions of the said works being indicated on the said plan P.W.D. 111066:—
(a) Headworks consisting of a dam and intake with a water-race leading to the pelton-wheel, and power-house hereinafter referred to, giving a static head of approximately 230 ft.
(b) A power-house, with all necessary equipment, for generating electricity.
(c) Tail-race leading from the said water-wheel to the Otara River.
- SYSTEM OF SUPPLY.
The system of supply shall be as described in paragraph (d) of clause 21-01 of the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935. The generating voltage and the transmission voltage shall be approximately 230 volts direct current.
- DURATION OF LICENSE.
Unless sooner determined, this license shall continue in force until the 31st day of March, 1962, or until electrical energy is available from an Electric-power Board or other general public source, whichever is the earlier.
- RENTAL.
For the purpose of assessing the annual rental payable in respect of this license, the licensee may install a suitable maximum-demand indicator to the satisfaction of the Inspecting Engineer of the Public Works Department, and, failing such installation, the rental shall be assessed on the maximum generating capacity of the plant installed. The present plant is rated at two kilowatts.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 26th day of November, 1941.
Present:
THE HON. W. NASH PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section thirty of the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928, it is enacted that the Governor-General may, by Order in Council, on petition in that behalf signed by a majority of the persons qualified to be enrolled on the ratepayers’ list for any proposed district, constitute and declare any area of land of not less than one thousand acres a rabbit district under and for the purposes of Part II of the said Act:
And whereas, in pursuance of the provisions of the said section thirty of the said Act, a petition has been received praying that the area of land described in the Schedule hereto be constituted and declared a rabbit district under and for the purposes of Part II of the said Act, and it is deemed expedient to give effect to the prayer of the petitioners accordingly:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the said Act, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, both hereby constitute by the specific name of the “Wyndham Rabbit District,” and declare that area of land defined in the Schedule hereto to be a rabbit district under and for the purpose of Part II of the said Act; and doth hereby further declare that the basis on which the Board to be established for the said district shall first levy its general rate shall be on the basis of the acreage of the rateable property in the said district.
SCHEDULE.
BOUNDARIES OF THE WYNDHAM RABBIT DISTRICT.
ALL that area in the County of Southland, Southland Land District, containing by estimation 38,370 acres, more or or less, bounded by a line commencing at the confluence of the Mataura and Wyndham Rivers; thence in a northerly direction generally along the left bank of the said Mataura River to the southern boundary of the Town District of Wyndham, as described in New Zealand Gazette No. 70 of the 23rd August, 1882, page 1137; thence in an easterly, north-easterly, and northerly direction along the boundary of the said Town District of Wyndham to the Mimihaui Stream; thence in a north-easterly direction generally along the left bank of the said Mimihaui Stream to its confluence with the south branch thereof; thence in a south-easterly direction along the left bank of the south branch of the said Mimihaui Stream to the northern boundary of Block IX, Slopedown Survey District; thence in a westerly direction along the northern boundary of Block IX aforesaid and along the northern boundary of Block III, Wyndham Survey District, to the north-eastern corner of Section 28, Block III, Wyndham Survey District; thence in a southerly direction along the eastern boundaries of Sections 28, 43, 52, 55, 41, 38, 42, 56, 57, 58, and 45, Block III, Wyndham Survey District, to the south-eastern corner of the last-mentioned section; thence in a south-easterly direction along the north-eastern boundary of Sections 27 and 28, Block VII, Wyndham Survey District, and Sections 4, 5, and 6, Block I, Mokoreta Survey District, to the north-western corner of Section 22A, Block I, Mokoreta Survey District; thence in an easterly direction along the northern boundary of the said Section 22A to the western boundary of Block II, Mokoreta Survey District; thence in a southerly direction along the western boundary of Blocks II and V, Mokoreta Survey District, Blocks XXII, IV, X, and XVII, Sections 11 and 12, Block XXI, Town of Mokoreta, Block V and VIII, Mokoreta Survey District, to the north-eastern corner of Block X, Mokoreta Survey District; thence in a westerly direction along the northern boundary of the said Block X to the eastern boundary of Run 74; thence in a northerly and north-westerly direction along the eastern and north-eastern boundary of the said Run 74 to the northernmost corner thereof; thence in a northerly and westerly direction along the eastern and northern boundaries respectively of Section 17, Block XI, Wyndham Survey District, to the eastern boundary of Section 37A, Glenham Settlement, Block XI, Wyndham Survey District; thence in a northerly, easterly, and again northerly direction along the eastern, southern, and eastern boundaries respectively of the said Section 37A, Glenham Settlement, to and across the Wyndham River; thence in a north-westerly direction generally along the right bank of the said Wyndham River to and across the Wyndham-Glenham Road; thence in a south-westerly direction along the north-western side of the said Wyndham-Glenham Road and that line produced to and across the Wyndham River; thence in a south-westerly direction along the right bank of the said Wyndham River to the point of commencement.

And whereas it appears expedient to revoke the said Order in Council:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, and of every other power and authority enabling him in this behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the aforesaid Order in Council, dated the seventh day of August, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-three.
