The Workers’ Compensation Act, 1922, and its Amendments.—
Declaring certain Diseases to be Diseases within the Operation
of the Act.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 29th day of
October, 1941.

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon
him by the Workers’ Compensation Act, 1922, and its
amendments, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
doth hereby declare the following diseases to be diseases
within the operation of the said Act :—

Poisoning by benzene and its homologues, or the sequelæ.
Poisoning by nitro- and amido-derivatives of benzene and
its homologues (trinitro toluene, anilin, and others), or
the sequelæ.
Manganese poisoning.

Extending Time for holding General Election of Members of
the Waikiwi River Board.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 5th day of
November, 1941.

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in him by section forty-two of the River Boards
Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him
in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council,
doth hereby extend the time for holding the general election
of the members of the Board of the Waikiwi River District ;
and doth hereby order and declare that in the aforesaid
river district the said general election shall be held and
take place on Saturday, the thirteenth day of December,
one thousand nine hundred and forty-one.

Waiapu County Council declared a Leasing Authority under
the Public Bodies’ Leases Act, 1908.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 5th day of
November, 1941.

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the Waiapu County Council is a body of
persons having power to lease lands held in trust,
reserved, or set apart for public purposes, and has requested
the Governor-General in Council to declare it to be a leasing
authority within the meaning of the Public Bodies’ Leases
Act, 1908 :

Now, therefore, in compliance with such request, and in
exercise of the powers in this behalf conferred by the above-
mentioned Act, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council,
doth hereby order and declare that the Waiapu County
Council is a leasing authority within the meaning of the
Public Bodies’ Leases Act, 1908.

New Plymouth Borough Council authorized to utilize Portion
of a Closed Street for the Purposes of a Public Abattoir.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 5th day of
November, 1941.

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power conferred on him
by section one hundred and ninety-four of the Municipal
Corporations Act, 1933, and of all other powers enabling
him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General,
acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council, doth hereby approve of the New Plymouth Borough
Council using that portion of a closed street described in the
Schedule hereto and situate in the Borough of New Plymouth
for the purposes of a public abattoir.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece of land contained by admeasurement 1 rood
19·81 perches, more or less, being more particularly described
as Lot 2 on Deposited Plan 5985, part Section 167, Hua
District.

Setting apart Unalienated Crown Land for Purposes of Part III
(State Coal-mines) of the Coal-mines Act, 1925.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by subsection one of section one
hundred and sixty-seven of the Coal-mines Act, 1925, and
of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf,
I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the
unalienated Crown land described in the Schedule hereto is
hereby set apart for the purposes of Part III of the said
Act, and do hereby further declare that this notice shall take
effect as from the date of the gazetting hereof.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area of unalienated Crown land in the Taranaki
Land District containing by admeasurement 1 rood and 11·3
perches, more or less, being Section 8, Block VII, Town of
Ohura. As the same is delineated on the plan marked
N. 6/4/57, deposited in the Head Office of the Mines Depart-
ment at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General, this 17th day of October, 1941.

Setting apart Unalienated Crown Land for Purposes of Part III
(State Coal-mines) of the Coal-mines Act, 1925.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by subsection one of section one
hundred and sixty-seven of the Coal-mines Act, 1925, and
of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf,
I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the
unalienated Crown land described in the Schedule hereto is
hereby set apart for the purposes of Part III of the said
Act, and do hereby further declare that this notice shall take
effect as from the date of the gazetting hereof.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area of unalienated Crown land in the Taranaki
Land District containing 268 acres, more or less, and being
Subdivision 2 of Section 9, Block I, Pahi Survey District
(S.O. 6833). As the same is more particularly delineated
on the plan marked N. 6/4/57, deposited in the Head Office
of the Department of Mines at Wellington, and thereon
bordered red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General, this 28th day of October, 1941.

Declaring Crown Lands in the Otago Land District to be subject
to the Land for Settlements Act, 1925.

WHEREAS the lands described in the Schedule
hereto (hereinafter referred to as the “said
lands”) are Crown lands not acquired under the Land
for Settlements Act, 1925, but are adjacent to certain
lands acquired under the said Act, and known as the Dalmain
Settlement and can conveniently be disposed of therewith :

Now, therefore, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting
in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by section one hundred and five of the
said Act, and on the recommendation of the Dominion Land
Purchase Board, and after considering the report of the Otago
