SCHEDULE.
OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.
ALL that area containing by admeasurement 9 acres 2 roods
12·7 poles, more or less, in Block VI, Benger Survey District :
Bounded towards the north-east by Section 4s, Dalmain
Settlement, and a public road, 2358·3 links and 433·3 links
respectively ; towards the south by a public road, 2814 links ;
and towards the north-west by a public road and Run 647,
266·6 links and 245 links respectively.
Also all that area containing by admeasurement 27·2 poles,
more or less, in Block VI, Benger Survey District : Bounded
towards the north-east by Section 4s, Dalmain Settlement,
510·6 links ; towards the south-east by a public road, 195·9
links ; and towards the south-west by a public road, 262·5
links and 68·4 links : be all the aforesaid linkages more or
less.
As the same are more particularly delineated on the plan
marked L. and S. 26/20274 “ A,” filed in the Head Office,
Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon
bordered red.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General, this 5th day of November, 1941.

Declaring Crown Land in the Canterbury Land District to
be subject to the Land for Settlements Act, 1925.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule
hereto (hereinafter referred to as the “ said
land ”) is Crown land not acquired under the Land
for Settlements Act, 1925, but is adjacent to certain
lands acquired under the said Act, and known as the
Hekeao Settlement and can conveniently be disposed of there-
with :
Now, therefore, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting in pur-
suance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred
upon me by section one hundred and five of the said Act,
and on the recommendation of the Dominion Land Purchase
Board, and after considering the report of the Canterbury
District Land Board, do hereby declare the said land to be
subject to the said Act, to the intent that it shall thereupon
be deemed to be portion of the said Hekeao Settlement and
may be disposed of accordingly.

SECTION 27, Block III, Shepherds’ Bush Survey District,
Hekeao Settlement : Area, 259 acres 1 rood 39 perches.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased
to confirm the following appointments, promotions,
and relinquishments of temporary rank of officers on active
service with the 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force
overseas, vide List No. 41 :—
APPOINTMENTS.
Commands and Staff.
Lieutenant-Colonel F. L. Hunt, 33rd (Canterbury-Otago)
Battalion, relinquishes the appointment of Assistant Adjutant
and Quartermaster-General, Headquarters, Maadi Camp, and
remains seconded. Dated 27th September, 1941.
Lieutenant-Colonel S. F. Allen, N.Z. Divisional Signals,
relinquishes command of the N.Z. Divisional Signals, is
appointed to command the Central Infantry Training Depot,
and is seconded. Dated 29th September, 1941.
Major (temp. Lieutenant-Colonel) A. W. Greville, 18th
(Auckland) Battalion, relinquishes command of the Northern
Infantry Training Depot, is appointed second in command,
22nd (Wellington) Battalion, and is seconded. Dated 29th
September, 1941.
Major C. L. Walter, N.Z. Artillery, relinquishes the appoint-
ment of second in command, 6th Field Regiment, N.Z.
Artillery, and is appointed to command the Artillery Training
Depot. Dated 22nd September, 1941.
Major L. F. Rudd, N.Z. Engineers, is appointed Assistant
Adjutant and Quartermaster-General, Headquarters, Maadi
Camp, in addition to his present appointment as Military
Secretary, 2nd N.Z. Expeditionary Force, and remains
seconded. Dated 27th September, 1941.
Major R. W. Sharp, N.Z. Artillery, relinquishes command
of the Artillery Training Depot, and is appointed second in
command, 6th Field Regiment, N.Z. Artillery. Dated 22nd
September, 1941.

Major G. L. Agar, O.B.E., N.Z. Divisional Signals, relin-
quishes the appointment of second in command, N.Z. Divi-
sional Signals, and is appointed to command N.Z. Divisional
Signals. Dated 29th September, 1941.
Major J. N. Peart, 18th (Auckland) Battalion, relinquishes
the appointment of second in command of the Battalion,
and is appointed to command the Northern Infantry Training
Depot. Dated 29th September, 1941.
Major J. Leggat, E.D., 22nd (Wellington) Battalion, relin-
quishes the appointment of second in command of the
Battalion, is appointed Liaison Officer from Headquarters,
2nd N.Z. Expeditionary Force with a Headquarters, and is
seconded. Dated 22nd September, 1941.
Major R. R. McGregor 21st (Auckland) Battalion, is
appointed second in command, 18th (Auckland) Battalion.
Dated 29th September, 1941.
Major H. F. Smith, 25th (Wellington) Battalion, relinquishes
command of the Central Infantry Training Depot. Dated
29th September, 1941.
Captain (temp. Major) R. R. Atkinson, 2nd N.Z. Divisional
Cavalry, is seconded for duty with Headquarters, 2nd N.Z.
Expeditionary Force. Dated 30th September, 1941.
Captain R. W. Adams, 24th (Auckland) Battalion, relin-
quishes the appointment of Liaison Officer at Headquarters,
6th N.Z. Infantry Brigade, is appointed Liaison Officer at
2nd N.Z. Division Headquarters, and remains seconded.
Dated 15th September, 1941.
Captain S. W. Josland, 25th (Wellington) Battalion, ceases
to be attached to the Base Reception Depot, is appointed
to command the Graves Registration and Inquiries Unit,
and remains seconded. Dated 20th September, 1941.
Captain J. Downs, 26th (Canterbury-Otago) Battalion,
relinquishes the appointment of Liaison Officer from Head-
quarters, 2nd N.Z. Expeditionary Force, and ceases to be
seconded. Dated 22nd September, 1941.
Captain C. Clark, Railway Construction and Maintenance
Group, is appointed to command the Engineer and Ordnance
Training Depot, and is seconded. Dated 27th September,
1941.
Captain A. E. B. Burge, 19th (Wellington) Battalion, is
seconded for duty at Headquarters, Maadi Camp. Dated
28th September, 1941.
