CROWN LANDS NOTICE.

Town Lands in Westland Land District for Selection on
Renewable Lease.

District Lands and Survey Office,

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned sections
are open for selection on renewable lease under the
Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the
District Lands and Survey Office, Hokitika, up to 4 o'clock
p.m. on Friday, 28th November, 1941.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at
the District Lands and Survey Office, Hokitika, on Wednesday,
3rd December, 1941, at 10.30 o'clock a.m., but if any applicant
is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land
Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the
examination of applicants, and the successful applicants are
required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit
comprising the first-year's rent, broken-period rent, lease
fee, and weighting for improvements.

NOTE.—These sections are offered in terms of section 153 of
the Land Act, 1924, which provides that no right to any
minerals under the surface shall pertain to the lessees whose
rights shall be to the surface soil only.

WESTLAND LAND DISTRICT.—TOWN LANDS.
Grey County.—Block I, Punakaiki Survey District.—Westland
Mining District.—Town of Punakaiki Extension No. 1.
Lot 1 of Section 3798 : Area, 25–9 perches. Capital value,
£45 ; half-yearly rent, £1 2s. 6d.
Weighted with £435 (payable in cash) for improvements
comprising dwelling, shed, clearing, and fencing.
Lot 2 of Section 3798 : Area, 21·5 perches. Capital value,
£35 ; half-yearly rent, 17s. 6d.
Weighted with £210 (payable in cash) for improvements
comprising dwelling, clearing, and fencing.
Lot 3 of Section 3798 : Area, 24·3 perches. Capital
value, £35 ; half-yearly rent, 17s. 6d.
Weighted with £300 (payable in cash) for improvements
comprising dwelling, storeroom, two-roomed hut, fencing, and
garden.
The sections are situated on the south bank of the Punakaiki
River, in close proximity to the sea-coast on the Greymouth-
Westport Main Highway. Access by said highway from
Greymouth twenty-seven miles distant.
