Appointments, Promotions, and Transfers of Officers of the
N.Z. Military Forces.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased
to approve of the following appointments, promotions,
and transfers of officers of the New Zealand Military Forces :—
STAFF.
Major J. W. Barry, N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the
appointment of General Staff Officer, 2nd Grade (Training
and Staff Duties), Army Headquarters, Wellington, and is
appointed Staff Officer, Training, Mobilization Camp,
Trentham. Dated 16th September, 1941.
N.Z. PERMANENT STAFF.
W.O. I (Staff Sergeant-Major) Charles Kedward Patrick to
be Lieutenant and Quartermaster (temp.), and is appointed
Quartermaster, Riccarton Camp. Dated 30th September,
1941.
W.O. I (Staff Sergeant-Major) Robert Chatten Allen to be
Lieutenant and Quartermaster (temp.), and is appointed
Quartermaster, Forbury Park Camp. Dated 30th September,
1941.
W.O. II (temp. W.O. I) (Staff Sergeant-Major) William
Henry McLenaghin to be Lieutenant and Quartermaster
(temp.), and is appointed Adjutant, Forbury Park Camp.
Dated 30th September, 1941.
W.O. II (temp. W.O. I) (Staff Sergeant-Major) William Philip
Morgan to be Lieutenant and Quartermaster (temp.), and is
appointed Quartermaster, Addington Camp. Dated 30th
September, 1941.
W.O. II (temp. W.O. I) (Staff Sergeant-Major) David
McCurrie to be Lieutenant and Quartermaster (temp.), and
is appointed Quartermaster, Wingatui Camp. Dated 30th
September, 1941.
N.Z. TEMPORARY STAFF.
Major K. B. McKenzie-Muirson, M.C., relinquishes the
appointment of Staff Officer, Training, Mobilization Camp,
Trentham, and is appointed Camp Commandant, Foxton
Military Camp. Dated 16th September, 1941.
Major R. A. Bradshaw-Smith, B.Sc. Lond., relinquishes the
appointment of Staff Officer, Engineers (Training), Army
Headquarters, Wellington, and retains the appointment of
Officer Commanding and Instructor, Engineer Wing, Army
School of Instruction, Trentham. Dated 20th September,
1941.
Ernest Smith to be Captain (temp.), and is appointed
Inspector, Empty Components (Grenades, &c., and Gauges),
Army Inspection Department, Wellington. Dated 18th
August, 1941.
Captain R. McEwan relinquishes the appointment of
Company Commander, No. 1 Training Battalion, and is
appointed Company Commander, No. 4 Training Battalion,
Mobilization Camp, Trentham. Dated 18th September, 1941.
Captain E. King relinquishes the appointment of Company
Commander, No. 1 Training Battalion, and is appointed
Company Commander, No. 5 Reconnaissance Battalion,
Mobilization Camp, Trentham. Dated 18th September, 1941.
Captain A. H. Richards relinquishes the appointment of
Company Commander, No. 2 Training Battalion, Mobilization
Camp, Burnham, and is appointed General Staff Officer,
3rd Grade (Home Guard), District Headquarters, Christ-
church. Dated 30th September, 1941.
Captain S. C. W. Watkins relinquishes the appointment of
Company Commander, Training Battalion, Mobilization Camp,
Burnham, and is appointed Adjutant, Staff College, Palmer-
ston North. Dated 7th October, 1941.
Lieutenant H. P. Leeves, P. and R. T. Instructor, Mobiliza-
tion Camp, Papakura, is granted the temporary rank of
Captain, while so employed. Dated 7th October, 1941.
Lieutenant A. Fuller relinquishes the appointment of
Platoon Commander, Guards, Vital Points, Central Military
District, and is appointed Staff Officer, “ A ” Duties, Central
Military District, Wellington. Dated 9th September, 1941.
Percy Reuben Hunter to be Lieutenant (temp.), and is
appointed Ordnance Officer, Main Ordnance Depot, Tren-
tham. Dated 26th September, 1941.
Percy Keesing to be Lieutenant (temp.), and is appointed
Deputy Assistant Adjutant-General, Central Military District,
Wellington. Dated 1st October, 1941.
Herbert Michael Inkster to be Lieutenant (temp.), and is
appointed Quartermaster, Area No. 6, Wanganui. Dated
3rd October, 1941.
2nd Lieutenant F. G. Tucker, attached Headquarters,
Northern Military District Supplies and Transport Branch, is
appointed Assistant District Supply Officer, Northern Military
District. Dated 24th September, 1941.
2nd Lieutenant D. R. Macdougall, attached Headquarters,
Southern Military District Supplies and Transport Branch, is
appointed Assistant District Supply Officer, Southern Military
District. Dated 24th September, 1941.
QUEEN ALEXANDRA’S (WELLINGTON WEST COAST) MOUNTED
RIFLES.
Captain (temp.), J. Bosomworth is granted the temporary
rank of Major. Dated 17th September, 1941.
2nd Lieutenant E. S. B. Bridger is granted the temporary
rank of Lieutenant. Dated 21st September, 1941.
THE MANAWATU MOUNTED RIFLES.

Captain (temp.) J. S. Coles, 37th Battery, 12th Field Regi-
ment, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b),
Area 7. Dated 29th September, 1941.
2nd Lieutenant (temp.) P. G. Pasley, 8th Medium Battery,
8th Medium Regiment, is granted the temporary rank of
Lieutenant. Dated 1st November, 1940.
2nd Lieutenant (temp.) F. L. Parkin, 71st Heavy Battery,
10th Heavy Regiment, is granted the temporary rank of
Lieutenant. Dated 9th September, 1941.

2nd Field Regiment, are granted the temporary rank of

Captain (temp.) A. Murray, M.N.Z.I.S., M.Inst. H.E.
(Lond.), Commanding 1st Field Company, is granted the
temporary rank of Major. Dated 1st June, 1941.
2nd Lieutenant L. J. McKenzie, 4th (Works) Company,
is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant. Dated 2nd
August, 1941.
THE HAURAKI REGIMENT.
Captain (temp. Major) G. H. Nicholls, 1st Battalion,
relinquishes the temporary rank of Major, and is transferred
to the Reserve of Officers, Class II (b), Area 2. Dated 2nd
October, 1941.
THE TARANAKI REGIMENT.
2nd Lieutenant (temp.) A. B. Currie, 1st Battalion, is granted
the temporary rank of Lieutenant. Dated 9th September,
1941.

John Macky, M.C. (late Imperial Army), to be 2nd Lieutenant
(temp.), and is posted to the 1st Battalion (Auckland). Dated
1st October, 1941.
N.Z. ARMY SERVICE CORPS.
Captain (temp.) E. H. L. Bernau, 5th Reserve Mechanical
Transport Company, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers,
Supplementary List. Dated 4th October, 1941.
Lieutenant (temp.) L. H. Miller, 2nd Composite Company,
is granted the temporary rank of Captain. Dated 23rd
September, 1941.
Lieutenant (temp.) W. V. N. Edwards, 5th Composite
