H IS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the following appointments, promotions, transfers, and resignations of officers of the New Zealand Military Forces :—

N.Z. TEMPORARY STAFF.

Lieutenant-Colonel J. H. Will, M.B., Ch.B., N.Z. Medical Corps, to be Lieutenant-Colonel (temp.), and is appointed Senior Medical Officer, Mobilization Camp, Ngaruawahia. Dated 1st September, 1941.

Leslie Eric Callon to be Major (temp.), and is appointed Senior Inspector, M.G. Carriers, Army Inspection Department, Wellington. Dated 5th September, 1941.

Lieutenant R. S. Cutfield is granted the temporary rank of Captain. Dated 24th September, 1941.

2nd Lieutenant E. C. Matthews, 1st Battalion, National Military Reserve, to be Lieutenant (temp.), and is appointed Provost Officer, Headquarters, Northern Military District. Dated 17th September, 1941.

2nd Lieutenant E. J. Waters, Instructor, Northern Military District School of Instruction, Narrow Neck, is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant. Dated 19th September, 1941.

2nd Lieutenant D. W. Sinclair, the Wellington Regiment (City of Wellington’s Own), to be Lieutenant (temp.), and is appointed General Staff Officer, 3rd Grade (Signals), Central Military District, Wellington. Dated 29th September, 1941.

2nd Lieutenant (temp.) P. R. Grant, N.Z. Army Service Corps, to be 2nd Lieutenant (temp.), and is posted for duty with the Defence Services Provision Office, Wellington. Dated 7th September, 1941.

Arthur Cyril Coleman to be 2nd Lieutenant (temp.), and is appointed Area Mechanical Transport Officer, Area No. 6. Dated 23rd September, 1941.

Captain D. Wilson, resigns his commission. Dated 1st October, 1941.

THE CANTERBURY YEOMANRY CAVALRY.

Joseph Augustus Mears to be 2nd Lieutenant (temp.). Dated 1st May, 1941.

QUEEN ALEXANDRA’S (WELLINGTON WEST COAST) MOUNTED RIFLES.

Roland William Carl Thomas is granted the honorary rank of Lieutenant, and is appointed Bandmaster. Dated 1st August, 1941.

THE WELLINGTON EAST COAST MOUNTED RIFLES.

2nd Lieutenant (temp.) P. J. Borthwick is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Supplementary List. Dated 12th September, 1941.

THE NELSON-MARLBOROUGH MOUNTED RIFLES.

William George Horrocks is granted the honorary rank of Lieutenant, and is appointed Bandmaster. Dated 1st June, 1941.
