Captain K. C. Hockey from the Ruahine Regiment to be
Captain, and is posted to the 1st Battalion, with seniority

NATIONAL MILITARY RESERVE.
2nd Lieutenant H. A. Gatward, M.C., 11th Company
(Wanganui), is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant.

2nd Lieutenant G. I. Jones, 11th Company (Wanganui), is
granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant. Dated 1st

2nd Lieutenant G. E. Ironside, 11th Company (Wanganui),
is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant. Dated 1st

Ralph Simpson is granted the honorary rank of Lieutenant,
and is appointed Bandmaster, 3rd Battalion. Dated 16th

N.Z. ARMY SERVICE CORPS.
Captain T. C. Warner, 2nd Composite Company, is trans-
ferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class 1 (b), Area 5. Dated
18th September, 1941.
Captain E. H. L. Bernau, from the Reserve of Officers,
Supplementary List, to be Captain (temp.), with seniority
from 1st April, 1941, and is posted to the 5th Reserve
Mechanical Transport Company. Dated 23rd September,
1941.
Lieutenant C. W. G. Cole from the Otago Regiment, to be
Lieutenant (temp.), and is posted to the 3rd Reserve
Mechanical Transport Company, with seniority from 2nd
May, 1941. Dated 19th September, 1941.
George Harry Walton to be 2nd Lieutenant (temp.),
and is posted to the 2nd Composite Company. Dated
10th September, 1941.
N.Z. MEDICAL CORPS.
Lieutenant-Colonel J. H. Will, M.B., Ch.B., relinquishes
command of the 8th Field Ambulance on being appointed to
the N.Z. Temporary Staff. Dated 1st September, 1941.
Lieutenant (temp. Major) W. R. Fea, M.B., Ch.B., is
appointed to command the 8th Field Ambulance, vice
Lieutenant-Colonel J. H. Will, M.B., Ch.B. Dated 1st
September, 1941.
Major (temp.) J. S. Hudson, M.R.C.S. (Eng.), L.R.C.P.
(Lond.), is appointed to command the 1st Field Ambulance,
vice Major (temp. Lieutenant-Colonel) J. H. Wood, M.B.,
Ch.B., seconded to 2nd N.Z.E.F., and is granted the tempo-
rary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel while so employed. Dated
1st September, 1941.

to approve of the following appointments, pro-
motions, transfers, and resignations of officers of the New
Zealand Military Forces :—
STAFF.
Captain (temp. Major) W. Pollard, Regiment of Royal N.Z.
Artillery, relinquishes command of the Artillery Training
Regiment, Mobilization Camp, Papakura, and is appointed
Officer Commanding, Artillery Training Regiment, Mobili-
zation Camp, Trentham. Dated 15th September, 1941.
Lieutenant and Quartermaster (temp.) J. A. McGavin,
Regiment of Royal N.Z. Artillery, relinquishes the appoint-
ment of Artillery Instructor, Papakura, and is appointed
Officer Commanding, “A” Battery, Artillery Training
Regiment, Mobilization Camp, Trentham. Dated 15th
September, 1941.
N.Z. TEMPORARY STAFF.
Lieutenant-Colonel R. Bagnall relinquishes command of
No. 1 Training Battalion, and is appointed to command
No. 4 Training Battalion, Mobilization Camp, Trentham.
Dated 18th September, 1941.
Major R. F. Mitchell, M.C., V.D., is struck off the strength
of the 2nd N.Z. Expeditionary Force, and is appointed
Officer Commanding, No. 3 Training Battalion, Mobilization
Camp, Trentham. Dated 15th September, 1941.
Major R. P. Harper, D.S.O., M.C., D.C.M., relinquishes
the appointment of Commander, Mounted Rifles Squadron,
No. 1 Training Battalion, Mobilization Camp, Burnham, and
is appointed Officer Commanding, Reconnaissance Battalion,
Mobilization Camp, Trentham. Dated 17th September, 1941.
Captain A. H. Thomas relinquishes the appointment of
Adjutant, 3rd Battalion, National Military Reserve, and is
attached to “Q” Branch, Southern Military District Head-
quarters, Christchurch. Dated 4th August, 1941.
Captain A. H. Thomas is granted the temporary rank of
Major. Dated 11th August, 1941.
Captain F. W. Moor, D.C.M., Staff Officer and Quarter-
master, Medical Services, Army Headquarters, Wellington,
is granted the temporary rank of Major while so employed.
Dated 19th September, 1941.
Captain A. Munro, N.Z. Artillery, to be Captain (temp.),
and is appointed Officer Commanding, “A” Battery, Artillery
