Appointments, Promotions, and Relinquishments of Temporary Rank of Officers on Active Service with the 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force Overseas.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to confirm the following appointments, promotions, and relinquishments of temporary rank of officers on active service with the 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force overseas, vide List No. 30:—

APPOINTMENTS.

Commands and Staff.

Major W. G. Morrison, N.Z. Engineers, is detached for special duty, and is seconded. Dated 7th July, 1941.

Captain R. L. Hutchens, 19th (Wellington) Battalion, relinquishes the appointment of Liaison Officer, 4th N.Z. Infantry Brigade, and is appointed Deputy Assistant Adjutant-General, Headquarters, Maadi Camp, and remains seconded. Dated 12th July, 1941.

Captain A. J. Neil, 27th (Machine Gun) Battalion, is appointed Staff Captain, 4th N.Z. Infantry Brigade, and remains seconded. Dated 12th July, 1941.

Captain (temp. Major) R. B. Dawson, 23rd (Canterbury-Otago) Battalion, is appointed Brigade Major, 5th N.Z. Infantry Brigade, and remains seconded. Dated 9th May, 1941.

Captain A. D. Copeland, 18th (Auckland) Battalion, is appointed Liaison Officer, 4th N.Z. Infantry Brigade Headquarters, and is seconded. Dated 12th July, 1941.

Captain J. Patterson, 23rd (Canterbury-Otago) Battalion, is appointed Camp Adjutant, Maadi Camp, and is seconded. Dated 12th July, 1941.

Captain R. G. Webb, 24th (Auckland) Battalion, is appointed Chief Instructor (Tactical Wing), 2nd N.Z. Expeditionary Force School of Instruction, and is seconded. Dated 3rd July, 1941.

Captain R. H. Bell, 2nd N.Z. Divisional Cavalry, relinquishes the appointment of Deputy Assistant Adjutant-General, Headquarters, Maadi Camp, and ceases to be seconded. Dated 12th July, 1941.

Captain F. R. McBride, 25th (Wellington) Battalion, relinquishes the appointment of Camp Adjutant, Maadi Camp, and ceases to be seconded. Dated 12th July, 1941.

Lieutenant W. W. Mason, 22nd (Wellington) Battalion, relinquishes the appointment of Intelligence Officer, 5th N.Z. Infantry Brigade, is appointed Staff Captain, 5th N.Z. Infantry Brigade, and remains seconded. Dated 9th May, 1941.

Lieutenant J. P. Quilter, 20th (Canterbury-Otago) Battalion, is appointed Liaison Officer, 4th N.Z. Infantry Brigade Headquarters, and is seconded. Dated 23rd June, 1941.

Lieutenant A. F. G. McGregor 23rd (Canterbury-Otago) Battalion, is appointed Transport Officer, 5th N.Z. Infantry Brigade, and is seconded. Dated 16th June, 1941.

PROMOTIONS.

Captain (temp. Major) G. P. Sanders to be Major, vice Major L. F. Rudd seconded, and remains seconded. Dated 1st July, 1941.

Infantry.

19th, 22nd, 25th, and 32nd (Wellington) Battalions.

2nd Lieutenant D. H. Nancarrow to be Lieutenant. Dated 1st May, 1941.

27th (Machine Gun) Battalion.

Captain J. H. R. Luxford to be Major, vice Captain J. S. King, M.B.E., promoted and seconded. Dated 24th June, 1941.

N.Z. Army Service Corps.

O. C. Bracegirdle, vice Major G. H. Whyte, placed on New Zealand Roll. Dated 16th June, 1941.
