Captain (temp. Major) R. S. Halliwell, M.C., N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Assistant Quartermaster-General, Northern Military District, Auckland, and is appointed Officer Commanding, No. 1 Training Battalion, Mobilization Camp, Papakura, vice Major R. Tilsley, M.C., D.C.M., E.D., N.Z. Temporary Staff, seconded for duty with the 2nd N.Z. Expeditionary Force. Dated 11th July, 1941.
REGIMENT OF ROYAL N.Z. ARTILLERY.
W.O. II (Battery Sergeant-Major) Ronald Irvine Bolton to be Lieutenant and Quartermaster (temp.), and is appointed Electric Light Officer, 74th Heavy Battery, 10th Heavy Regiment, N.Z. Artillery, Fort Dorset. Dated 30th August, 1941.
N.Z. ARMY ORDNANCE CORPS.
Percival Nowell Erridge (late Lieutenant, 2nd N.Z. Expeditionary Force) is granted a temporary commission in the N.Z. Army Ordnance Corps in the rank of Lieutenant, and is granted the temporary rank of Captain whilst holding the appointment of Assistant to the New Zealand Liaison Officer, Melbourne. Dated 30th July, 1941.
N.Z. TEMPORARY STAFF.
Captain A. J. Coutts relinquishes the appointment of Deputy Assistant Quartermaster-General, Northern Military District, is appointed Assistant Quartermaster-General, Northern Military District, vice Captain (temp. Major) R. S. Halliwell, M.C., N.Z. Staff Corps, and is granted the temporary rank of Major while so employed. Dated 11th July, 1941.
Captain A. A. Luckham, C.B.E., relinquishes the appointment of Assistant Adjutant, Mobilization Camp, Papakura, and is appointed Adjutant, Mobilization Camp, Papakura. Dated 17th May, 1941.
2nd Lieutenant F. W. Spite is granted the temporary rank of Captain. Dated 1st July, 1941.
David H. Graham to be Lieutenant (temp.), and is appointed Inspector, Filled Components, Army Inspection Department. Dated 1st September, 1941.
Lieutenant C. O. Barnett, M.N.Z.I.S., A.M.T.P.I. (Lond.), Adjutant, 2nd Field Company and 5th (Works) Company, Corps of N.Z. Engineers, is granted the temporary rank of Captain while so employed. Dated 8th September, 1941.
The notice published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 74, dated 11th September, 1941, relative to Henry Steele Montgomery, is hereby cancelled and the following substituted:—
“Hew Seton Montgomery to be Lieutenant (temp.), and is appointed Company Commander, No. 3 Training Battalion, Mobilization Camp, Trentham. Dated 8th September, 1941.”
Lieutenant G. G. Beaven, The Wellington West Coast Regiment, to be Lieutenant (temp.), and is appointed Adjutant, No. 2 Training Battalion, Mobilization Camp, Trentham, vice Lieutenant A. Molineaux, N.Z. Staff Corps. Dated 12th September, 1941.
Frederick Walter McClenan to be Lieutenant (temp.), and is appointed Assistant Area Officer, No. 8 Area, New Plymouth. Dated 19th September, 1941.
2nd Lieutenant L. L. Hosking, B.E. (Civil), A.M.I.C.E. (Lond.), A.M.(N.Z.)I.E., is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant. Dated 1st June, 1941.
Frank Reid Bishop to be 2nd Lieutenant (temp.), and is posted for duty with the Defence Services Provision Office, Wellington. Dated 6th September, 1941.
COMMAND.
Major D. S. Chisholm, National Military Reserve, is appointed to command the 4th Battalion temporarily, during the absence, on sick leave, of Lieutenant-Colonel J. McPherson, O.B.E., and is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel while so employed. Dated 10th September, 1941.
