ALL that area containing by admeasurement 4 acres 2 roods 31 perches, more or less, and being part of Reserve 1858, situated in the Borough of Timaru, and bounded as follows: Towards the north-west and north generally by Lagoon Street, 357·2 links, and by the south-east boundary of Lot 52, Deposit Plan 263, by Flinders Street, by Lots 85 to 98, inclusive, and Lot 101, Deposit Plan 263, by Collins Street, by Lot 102, Deposit Plan 263, and by Rural Sections 2367 and 1702; towards the south-east by Reserve 1856, 703·9 links, 2570·2 links, 1710·4 links, and 1396·0 links; towards the south by Rural Section 3753, 104·9 links, and again towards the north-west and towards the south generally by other part of Reserve 1858, 1371·1 links, 1719·6 links, 2586·3 links, 589·2 links, 823·8 links, 759·9 links, 671·4 links, 401·7 links, 308·4 links, 1004·7 links, 281·8 links, 192·6 links, and 390·95 links. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 6/11/81c, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Notifying the Proposed Exchange of State Forest in the Canterbury Conservancy for other Land.

WHEREAS by section four of the Forests Amendment Act, 1925, it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor-General, whenever he deems it expedient in the public interest, to grant in fee-simple any area of land comprised in a State forest which is subject to the provisions of the Forests Act, 1921–22, in exchange for the fee-simple of any other land, and on any such exchange to pay or receive any sum by way of equality of exchange:

And whereas in the opinion of the Governor-General it is expedient to exchange the area of State forest described in the First Schedule hereto for the land of equal value described in the Second Schedule hereto, and the owner of the land described in the Second Schedule has agreed to such exchange: Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the aforesaid powers and authorities, doth hereby declare it is his intention to grant in fee-simple the area of State forest described in the First Schedule hereto in exchange for the fee-simple of the land described in the Second Schedule.


FIRST SCHEDULE.

DESCRIPTION OF LAND AUTHORIZED TO BE EXCHANGED.

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, Waipara County, containing 1 acre 1 rood 24 perches, more or less, being part of Reserve 1679, situated in Block IV, Waikari Survey District, and bounded as follows: Towards the east by Rural Section 35164, 76·9 links; towards the south by Rural Section 35163, 1868·45 links; and towards the north-west and north by the other part of Reserve 1679, 118·8 links and 1778·05 links: be all the aforesaid measurements more or less. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 128/22, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.


SECOND SCHEDULE.

DESCRIPTION OF LAND TO BE RECEIVED IN EXCHANGE.

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, Waipara County, containing 1 acre 1 rood 24 perches, more or less, being part of Rural Section 35163, situated in Block IV, Waikari Survey District, and bounded as follows: Towards the north by Reserve 1679, 804·3 links; and towards the south-east and south-west by the other part of Rural Section 35163, 538·6 links and 526·1 links: be the aforesaid measurements more or less. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 128/22, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered green.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 26th day of August, 1941.

Appointment of Inspector of Sea-fishing.

IT is hereby notified that His Excellency the Governor-General has, in pursuance of the provisions of the Fisheries Act, 1908, and of the Official Appointments and Documents Act, 1919, appointed

Sydney Tucker, of Whitianga,

to be an Inspector of Sea-fishing for the purposes of Part I of the first-mentioned Act.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the following appointments, promotions, transfers, resignations, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Military Forces:—

STAFF.

Captain L. R. Neilson, N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Camp Commandant, Dannevirke Military Camp, and is appointed Assistant Adjutant, Waiouru Military Camp. Dated 21st August, 1941.

Lieutenant R. J. H. Webb, N.Z. Staff Corps, is appointed Artillery Instructor, Mobilization Camp, Papakura. Dated 3rd July, 1941.

Lieutenant R. J. H. Webb, N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Artillery Instructor, Mobilization Camp, Papakura, and is appointed Artillery Instructor, Rotorua Military Camp. Dated 1st August, 1941.

N.Z. PERMANENT STAFF.

W.O. I (Staff Sergeant-Major) Charles David Wilson to be Lieutenant and Quartermaster (temp.), and is appointed Area Quartermaster, Area No. 10, Christchurch. Dated 5th August, 1941.
