Waihi Drainage Area.—Notice of making and levying General Rates.

I, JAMES GILLISPIE BARCLAY, acting for the Minister of Lands, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by the Swamp Drainage Act, 1915, and its amendments, do hereby make and levy on the unimproved value of all land within the Pukehina Subdivision of the Waihi Drainage Area constituted under the said Act, the general rates described in the First Schedule hereto, and on the unimproved value of all land included in the Central Subdivision the general rate described in the Second Schedule hereto, and on the unimproved value of all land in the Kaikokopu Subdivision the general rates described in the Third Schedule hereto, such respective rates being for the purpose of meeting maintenance-costs for the period 1st April, 1941, to 31st March, 1942.

The amount of such rates will be payable in one sum on the 30th day of August, 1941, together with the amount of the special rates already made and levied, to the Collector of Rates, Room 45, First Floor, Government Buildings, Customs Street West, Auckland.

The rate-book will be open for inspection at the office of the Collector of Rates, and a copy of the same will be available for inspection at the office of Mr. H. W. Earp, Clerk, Kaituna River Board, Te Puke, at all times at which those offices are open for the transaction of public business.

FIRST SCHEDULE.
PUKEHINA SUBDIVISION.

Class A.—On the unimproved value of all land classified as Class A by the persons appointed to classify lands under section 3 of the Swamp Drainage Amendment Act, 1928, fivepence and seven one-hundredths of a penny (5·07d.) in the pound.

Class C.—On the unimproved value of all land so classified as Class C, twopence and twenty-five one-hundredths of a penny (2·25d.) in the pound.

SECOND SCHEDULE.
CENTRAL SUBDIVISION.

Class A.—On the unimproved value of all land classified as Class A by the persons appointed to classify lands under section 3 of the Swamp Drainage Amendment Act, 1928, fivepence and forty-five one-hundredths of a penny (5·45d.) in the pound.

THIRD SCHEDULE.
KAIKOKOPU SUBDIVISION.

Class A.—On the unimproved value of all land classified as Class A by the persons appointed to classify lands under section 3 of the Swamp Drainage Amendment Act, 1928, fivepence and seventeen one-hundredths of a penny (5·17d.) in the pound.

Class B.—On the unimproved value of all land so classified as Class B, fourpence and two one-hundredths of a penny (4·02d.) in the pound.

Class C.—On the unimproved value of all land so classified as Class C, twopence and three-tenths of a penny (2·3d.) in the pound.

Notifying Land in Canterbury Land District subject to Land for Settlements Act, 1925.

PURSUANT to the provisions of subsection (2) of section 48 of the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, notice is hereby given that the land described in the Schedule hereto, being the land known as Section 10, Bankfield Settlement, was acquired by the Crown on the 1st day of July, 1941, and became subject to the provisions of the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, as from that date.

SCHEDULE.
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.

Lot 11, D.P. 1660, being part Rural Sections 16386, 16387, and 17633, Block XV, Otaio Survey District: Area, 131 acres 1 rood 32 perches. Being all the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 194, folio 297, Canterbury Registry.

Alteration of Boundaries of Trounson Kauri Park Fire District.

WHEREAS by a notice published in the Gazette on 15th February, 1940, at page 235 (hereinafter referred to as “the said notice”), a certain area in the North Auckland Land District was declared to be a fire district: And whereas it is expedient to alter the boundaries of the Trounson Kauri Park Fire District described in the Schedule to the said notice:

Now, therefore, in pursuance of section 27 of the Forests Act, 1921–22, and section 6 of the Forests Amendment Act, 1925, and on the recommendation of the Director of Forestry and of the Land Board of the North Auckland Land District, I hereby revoke the said notice, and declare the area described in the Schedule hereto to be a fire district to be known as the Trounson Kauri Park Fire District, and I do further specify the period from the 16th day of October in any year to the 15th day of April in the following year, inclusive, as the period during which it shall not be lawful for any person within the said district, save pursuant to the written permit of a Forest officer, to set on fire or cause to be set on fire any timber, whether standing or not, or any undergrowth, or any debris from forest operations, or land-clearing operations, or any grass, or other specially inflammable material, without taking such precautions as may be prescribed by a Forest officer.

SCHEDULE.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—AUCKLAND FOREST-CONSERVATION REGION.—TROUNSON KAURI PARK FIRE DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, Hobson County, containing approximately 4,400 acres, situated in Blocks IX and XIII, Tutamoe Survey District, and Blocks XI and XIII, Waipoua Survey District, and bounded generally as follows: Commencing at the south-eastern corner of Lot 3 on D.P. 1459, being a subdivision of Section 1, Block IX, Tutamoe Survey District; thence in a southerly direction generally along the right bank of the Mangatu Stream, to and along the northern boundary of Lot 12 on D.P. 1459, being a subdivision of Section I, Block IX, Tutamoe Survey District, to and across the Hokianga–Opanake Road and along the western side of that road, to and along the northern boundary of Section 30, Block XIII, Tutamoe Survey District, and this boundary produced across the Waima River to the middle-line of the Kaihu Valley Railway; thence in a north-westerly direction generally along the middle-line of the Kaihu Valley Railway aforesaid for a distance of approximately three miles to a point on the northern side of the public road through Section 1, Block XI, Waipoua Survey District; thence in a westerly direction generally along that public road to the eastern boundary of Lot 2 on D.P. 16536, being a subdivision of Section 2, Block XI, Waipoua Survey District; thence in a northerly direction generally along the eastern boundary of Lot 2 aforesaid, to and along the southern boundary of Lot 2 on D.P. 11339, being portion of Section 20, Block XI, Waipoua Survey District, to and across the Kaihu Valley Railway and along the eastern side of that railway to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 18, Block XI, Waipoua Survey District; thence in an easterly direction generally across the Waima River and along the southern boundary of Section 18 aforesaid, the abutment of a public road, and along the eastern side of that public road to its junction with Donnelly’s–Park Road at the north-western corner of Section 17, Block XI, Waipoua Survey District; thence due north to the northern side of Donnelly’s–Park Road; thence in a north-easterly direction along the northern side of that road and along the north-western side of McLean’s Road to its intersection with a stream passing through Section 11, Block XI, Waipoua Survey District; thence in a south-easterly direction along that stream across McLean’s Road and through Sections 11 and 13, Block XI, aforesaid, to the western boundary of Lot 2 on D.P. 1459, being a subdivision of Section 1, Block IX, Tutamoe Survey District; thence along the western and southern boundaries of Lot 2 on D.P. 1459 aforesaid, and the southern boundary of Lot 3 on D.P. 1459 aforesaid, to the point of commencement. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 7/30, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
