Appointments, Promotions, Transfers, and Relinquishments
of Temporary Rank of Officers on Active Service with the
2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force Overseas.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased
to confirm the following appointments, promotions,
transfers, and relinquishments of temporary rank of officers
on active service with the 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary
Force overseas, vide List No. 26 :—
APPOINTMENTS.
Commands and Staff.
Brigadier L. M. Inglis, M.C., V.D., relinquishes command
of the 9th N.Z. Infantry Brigade, and assumes command
of the 4th N.Z. Infantry Brigade. Dated 17th May, 1941.
Brigadier L. M. Inglis, M.C., V.D., relinquishes command
of the 4th N.Z. Infantry Brigade, and is seconded for special
duty. Dated 31st May, 1941.
Lieutenant-Colonel A. S. Falconer, D.S.O., M.C., is ap-
pointed to command the 9th N.Z. Infantry Brigade. Dated
27th May, 1941.
Captain A. E. B. Burge, 19th (Wellington) Battalion,
relinquishes the appointment of Cipher Officer, 2nd N.Z.
Division, and ceases to be seconded. Dated 9th May, 1941.
2nd Lieutenant J. V. Hollis, 19th (Wellington) Battalion,
is appointed Cipher Officer, 2nd N.Z. Division, and remains
seconded. Dated 9th May, 1941.
PROMOTIONS.

Lieutenant (temp. Captain) H. S. Budd to be Captain,
vice Captain C. E. Webster promoted. Dated 1st March, 1941.
33rd (Canterbury-Otago) Battalion.
Lieutenant (temp. Captain) B. E. Romans to be Captain,
vice Captain M. C. Fairbrother seconded. Dated 10th
February, 1941.

Lieutenant H. M. Green is granted the temporary rank of

19th and 22nd (Wellington) Battalions.
Lieutenant F. P. Koorcy is granted the temporary rank of
Captain while holding the appointment of second in
command of a Company. Dated 4th May, 1941.
Lieutenant E. D. Blundell is granted the temporary rank
of Captain while holding the appointment of Adjutant of
a Battalion. Dated 4th May, 1941.
2nd Lieutenant J. L. MacDuff is granted the temporary
rank of Captain while holding the appointment of Adjutant
of a Battalion. Dated 15th April, 1941.
20th (Canterbury-Otago) Battalion.
The undermentioned Lieutenants are granted the temporary
