Directing the Sale of Land under the Public Works Act, 1928,
in the City of Dunedin.

GALWAY, Governor-General.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 21st day of
January, 1941.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon him by the Public Works Act, 1928,
His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of
New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of
the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby
direct the sale of the land described in the Schedule hereto,
such land being no longer required for the public work for
which it was acquired.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land directed to be sold :
20 perches.

Being part Section 36, Block XVIII, Town of Dunedin.

Situated in the City of Dunedin (Otago R.D.). (S.O. 9212.)

In the Otago Land District ; as the same is more particularly
delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 109858, deposited
in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington,
and thereon edged red.

The Southern Side of Portions of Nelson-Stoke via Jenkin's
Hill Main Highway, in the County of Waimea, exempted
from the Provisions of Section 128 of the Public Works
Act, 1928, subject to a Condition as to the Building-line.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 21st day of
January, 1941.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the
Public Works Act, 1928, and of every other power in
anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the following
resolution passed by the Main Highways Board on the
eighteenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and
forty, viz :—

"The Main Highways Board, being the local authority
having control of the Nelson-Stoke via Jenkin's Hill
Main Highway, by resolution declares that the provi-
sions of section one hundred and twenty-eight of the
Public Works Act, 1928, shall not apply to the southern
side of portions of the said highway fronting parts Section
16, District of Suburban South ";

subject to the condition that no building or part of a building
shall at any time be erected on the land fronting the portions
of the Nelson-Stoke via Jenkin's Hill Main Highway (des-
cribed in the Schedule hereto), within a distance of thirty-
three feet from the centre-lines of the said portions of road.

SCHEDULE.

THE southern side of all those portions of road situated in
the Nelson Land District, County of Waimea, known as the
Nelson-Stoke via Jenkin's Hill Main Highway, fronting parts
Section 16, District of Suburban South. As the same is more
particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 109697,
deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at
Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

President of the Prisons Board appointed.

GALWAY, Governor-General.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 16th day
of January, 1941.

Present:

THE RIGHT HON. P. FRASER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section nine of the Crimes Amendment
Act, 1910, it is enacted that there shall be constituted
a Board to be called “ the Prisons Board,” consisting of not
less than three nor more than seven persons: And whereas
by the said section it is provided that the members of the
Board shall be appointed from time to time by the Governor-
General in Council :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of
the power and authority conferred upon him by the Crimes
Amendment Act, 1910, and of every other power and authority
enabling him in that behalf and acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
Dominion, doth hereby appoint

The Honourable Sir Henry Hubert Ostler, Kt., a
Judge of the Supreme Court,

to be President of the Prisons Board constituted under the
Crimes Amendment Act, 1910, as aforesaid.

Authorizing Erection of a Public Hall on One Tree Point
Domain, North Auckland Land District.

GALWAY, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
conferred upon me by subsection one (d) of section
fifty-two of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National
Parks Act, 1928, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway,
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby
authorize the One Tree Point Domain Board to erect a public
hall on that portion of the One Tree Point Domain under its
control described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.

ALL that area containing by admeasurement 1 rood 19·9
perches, more or less, being part Section 22, Block VII,
Ruakaka Survey District, bounded : Commencing at a
point being the south-eastern corner of Section 22, Block VII
aforesaid ; thence north-westerly along a public road, 150
links ; thence north-easterly on a bearing 24° 10' 250 links ;
thence south-easterly on a bearing 118° 09' 150 links, to a
point on the eastern boundary of Section 22, Block VII
aforesaid ; thence south-westerly along the said boundary
to the point of commencement. As the same is more
particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1/1032a,
deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and
Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General, this 24th day of January, 1941.

Declaring Crown Land in the Canterbury Land District to
be subject to the Land for Settlements Act, 1925.

hereto (hereinafter referred to as the “ said
land ”) is Crown land not acquired under the Land
for Settlements Act, 1925, but is adjacent to certain
lands acquired under the said Act, and known as the Strath-
more Settlement and can conveniently be disposed of there-
