HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to confirm the following appointments, promotions, and transfers of officers on active service with the 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force overseas, vide List No. 22:—
COMMANDS AND STAFF.
Major B. J. Mathewson, 20th (Canterbury-Otago) Battalion, relinquishes the appointment of 2nd N.Z. Expeditionary Force Base Liaison Officer, and ceases to be seconded. Dated 13th April, 1941.
Major E. L. Button, M.B., Ch.B., F.R.C.S., No. 3 N.Z. General Hospital, is appointed Officer-in-Charge, Surgical Division. Dated 25th March, 1941.
Captain A. L. Hogg, 4th Field Regiment, N.Z. Artillery, is appointed General Staff Officer, 3rd Grade (Operations), Headquarters, 2nd N.Z. Division, and is seconded. Dated 14th March, 1941.
Captain J. Downs, 26th (Canterbury-Otago) Battalion, is appointed Liaison Officer, from 2nd N.Z. Expeditionary Force Base, with a Headquarters, and is seconded. Dated 13th April, 1941.
Captain J. Vincent, D.C.M., M.M., relinquishes the appointment of Officer Commanding, Composite Training Depot, and is appointed Commandant, 2nd N.Z. Expeditionary Force Base Signal School. Dated 1st April, 1941.
Captain J. H. Garland is appointed Officer Commanding, Composite Training Depot, and is seconded. Dated 1st April, 1941.
Captain T. W. Straker, N.Z. Artillery, relinquishes the appointment of General Staff Officer, 3rd Grade (Operations), while attending 4th Staff Course, Haifa, and ceases to be seconded. Dated 18th March, 1941.
Lieutenant G. E. Vercoe, 32nd (Wellington) Battalion, is appointed Officer-in-Charge, Administration, 2nd Echelon, and is seconded. Dated 3rd April, 1941.
2nd Lieutenant A. T. Gillum, 31st (Auckland) Battalion, is appointed Deputy Assistant Provost Marshal, 2nd N.Z. Expeditionary Force Base, and is seconded. Dated 3rd April, 1941.
2nd Lieutenant C. S. Awdry, 32nd (Wellington) Battalion, is appointed Officer-in-Charge, Base Provost Company, and is seconded. Dated 3rd April, 1941.
2nd Lieutenant A. L. Poole, Forestry Group, N.Z. Engineers, is attached to the New Zealand High Commissioner’s Office, London, and is seconded. Dated 2nd April, 1941.
