HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased
to approve of the following appointments, promo-
tions, transfers, resignations, and retirements of officers of
the New Zealand Military Forces :—

STAFF.

Major V. J. Innes, N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the
appointment of Staff Officer, Movements and Quartering,
Army Headquarters, is appointed Director of Mechanical
Transport, Army Headquarters, and is granted the
temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel while so employed.
Dated 22nd April, 1941.

Lieutenant D. S. Harrowell, N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes
the appointment of Adjutant, No. 3 Training Battalion,
Mobilization Camp, Burnham, and is appointed Adjutant,
1st Battalion, The Southland Regiment, Invercargill.
Dated 1st April, 1941.

Captain and Quartermaster (temp.) C. T. R. McLean,
M.B.E., Regiment of Royal N.Z. Artillery, relinquishes
the appointment of Adjutant, 11th Heavy Regiment,
N.Z. Artillery, and is appointed to command the 18th
Heavy Battery, 11th Heavy Regiment, N.Z. Artillery.
Dated 8th February, 1941.

Lieutenant and Quartermaster (temp.) K. A. Kinzett,
Regiment of Royal N.Z. Artillery, relinquishes the
appointment of Adjutant, 11th Heavy Regiment, N.Z.
Artillery, dated 28th February, 1941, and is appointed
Assistant Adjutant, 3rd Field Regiment, N.Z. Artillery,
and Artillery Instructor, Christchurch. Dated 1st
March, 1941.

REGIMENT OF ROYAL N.Z. ARTILLERY.

W.O. II (Battery Sergeant-Major) Frank Leonard Mason
to be Lieutenant and Quartermaster (temp.), and is
posted to the Electric Light Section, 9th Heavy Regi-
ment, N.Z. Artillery. Dated 1st April, 1941.

N.Z. TEMPORARY STAFF.

Major G. Lyon, M.C., E.D., Fire Commander, Lyttelton,
is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel.
Dated 7th April, 1941.

Hon. Major K. McC. McIntyre relinquishes his appointment
in the N.Z. Temporary Staff and the honorary rank of
Major. Dated 18th April, 1941.

Captain S. N. Jolly, B.D.S., N.Z. Dental Corps, relinquishes
the appointment of Dental Officer, Mobilization Camp,
Papakura, and is appointed Dental Officer, Military
Camp, Narrow Neck. Dated 25th April, 1941.

Captain D. W. Earle, N.Z. Dental Corps, relinquishes the
appointment of Dental Officer, Waiouru Military Camp,
and is appointed Dental Officer, Mobilization Camp,
Trentham. Dated 28th April, 1941.

Edgar Beilby Edwards, M.C. (late N.Z. Expeditionary
Force) to be Lieutenant (temp.). Dated 6th December,
1940.

Lieutenant E. B. Edwards, M.C., is appointed Adjutant,
2nd Signals Company, N.Z. Corps of Signals, Wellington.
Dated 14th January, 1941.

John Bracken Seru Nicoll to be Lieutenant (temp.).
Dated 29th March, 1941.

Claude Clement Moss to be Lieutenant (temp.), and is
appointed Adjutant, No. 1 Training Battalion, Mobili-
zation Camp, Trentham. Dated 10th April, 1941.

2nd Lieutenant P. A. O'Sullivan, 2nd Battalion, National
Military Reserve, to be Lieutenant (temp.), and is
appointed Platoon Commander, Guards, Vital Points,
Central Military District. Dated 19th April, 1941.

Lieutenant H. P. Leeves, The Auckland Regiment (Countess
of Ranfurly’s Own), to be Lieutenant (temp.), and is
appointed P. and R.T. Instructor, Mobilization Camp,
Papakura. Dated 21st April, 1941.

Captain A. C. E. Loadsmann, Reserve of Officers, The
Wellington West Coast Regiment, to be Lieutenant
(temp.), and is appointed Platoon Commander, Guards,
Vital Points, Central Military District. Dated 21st
April, 1941.

Lieutenant S. Taylor relinquishes the appointment of
Adjutant, 1st Battalion, The Southland Regiment,
dated 31st March, 1941, and is reposted to the Retired
List. Dated 21st April, 1941.

2nd Lieutenant J. A. S. Coppard is granted the temporary
rank of Lieutenant. Dated 23rd April, 1941.

Lieutenant K. T. Moss, B.D.S., N.Z. Dental Corps, relin-
quishes, the appointment of Dental Officer, Mobilization
Camp, Burnham, and is appointed Dental Officer,
Military Camp, Narrow Neck. Dated 25th November,

Lieutenant A. K. Chirnside, B.D.S., N.Z. Dental Corps,
relinquishes the appointment of Dental Officer, Mobiliza-
tion Camp, Trentham, and is attached to the Royal N.Z.
Air Force Station, Levin. Dated 25th April, 1941.

Lieutenant J. A. R. Scott, M.Sc., B.D.S., N.Z. Dental
Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Dental Officer,
Mobilization Camp, Trentham, and is attached to the
Royal N.Z. Air Force Station, Rongotai. Dated 24th
April, 1941.

Lieutenant E. J. Flynn, N.Z. Dental Corps, relinquishes
the appointment of Dental Officer, Mobilization Camp,
Papakura, and is appointed Dental Officer, Mobilization

Lieutenant J. W. Wylie, B.D.S., N.Z. Dental Corps,
relinquishes the appointment of Dental Officer, Mobiliza-
tion Camp, Trentham, and is appointed Dental Officer,

Lieutenant A. I. McCowan, N.Z. Dental Corps, relinquishes
the appointment of Dental Officer, Mobilization Camp,

Gerald Maxwell Turner, B.D.S., to be Lieutenant, N.Z.
Dental Corps, and is appointed Dental Officer, Mobiliza-

Job Coburn to be 2nd Lieutenant (temp.), and is appointed
Platoon Commander, Guards, Vital Points, Central

porary rank of Captain and is granted the temporary
rank of Major. Dated 7th April, 1941.

Lieutenant (temp.) G. L. Robertson ceases to be posted to
the 18th Heavy Battery, 11th Heavy Regiment, is
appointed Adjutant, 11th Heavy Regiment, and is
granted the temporary rank of Captain. Dated 1st
March, 1941.

Keith Norman Price to be 2nd Lieutenant (temp.), and is
posted to the 11th Heavy Battery, 9th Heavy Regiment.

Brian Sidney Cole to be 2nd Lieutenant (temp.), and is
