Warrant approving a Type of Pedestrian-crossing as an Authorized Pedestrian-crossing.
IN terms of Regulation 4 of the Pedestrian-crossing and Safety-zone Regulations 1939 (hereinafter referred to as the “said regulations”), the Minister of Transport does hereby approve the type of pedestrian-crossing described in the Schedule hereto as an authorized pedestrian-crossing for use in a street along which tram rails are laid, provided that the crossing is constructed of permanent materials.
SCHEDULE.
A PEDESTRIAN-CROSSING of the type described in Diagram No. 3 in the Schedule to the said regulations, save that where the crossing extends across that portion of the street which carries the tram rails the material or surface of the area between the lines of the crossing need not be of a colour to contrast with the colour of the adjacent roadway as prescribed by clause (4) of Regulation 4 of the said regulations.

Approval of a Testing Officer under the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940.
IN terms of Regulation 5 of the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport does hereby approve, until further notice, of the person named in Column 2 of the Schedule hereunder being a Testing Officer under the said regulations for the authority specified in Column 1 of the said Schedule.

Notice revoking the Oil Fuel Retail Hours (Gore, Mataura, and Wyndham) Order 1941.
PURSUANT to the Oil Fuel Retail Hours Emergency Regulations (No. 2) 1940, and to the powers in that behalf therein conferred upon me, I, Patrick Charles Webb, Minister of Labour, do hereby revoke the Oil Fuel Retail Hours (Gore, Mataura, and Wyndham) Order 1941, as from the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette.

The Strike and Lockout Emergency Regulations 1939.—Appointment of Emergency Disputes Committee.
IN pursuance of the powers in that behalf conferred upon me by the Strike and Lockout Emergency Regulations 1939, I, Patrick Charles Webb, Minister of Labour, do hereby appoint the following persons to be an Emergency Disputes Committee for the purposes of the said regulations, and do refer to that Committee a dispute which has arisen between the Otahuhu Chemical Manure Workers’ Union (Incorporated) and the Challenge Phosphate Company, Limited, Kempthorne, Prosser, and Co.’s New Zealand Drug Company, Limited, and the New Zealand Farmers’ Fertilizer Company, Limited :—

Oil Fuel Retail Hours (Napier) Order 1941.
PURSUANT to the Oil Fuel Retail Hours Emergency Regulations (No. 2) 1940, and pursuant to a requisition in writing received in that behalf, I, Patrick Charles Webb, Minister of Labour, do hereby direct as follows :—

This Order may be cited as the Oil Fuel Retail Hours (Napier) Order 1941.

This Order shall apply to all establishments engaged in the sale by retail of oil fuel and situate within seven miles of the post-office in the Borough of Napier.

This Order shall come into force on the 12th day of May, 1941.

On and after the coming into force of this Order all such establishments, except as hereinafter provided, shall be closed for the sale of oil fuel for the whole of every Sunday, and shall on every Friday be opened for the sale of oil fuel from 8 a.m. till 9 p.m. and closed at all other times on every Friday, and shall on every other day of the week be opened for the sale of oil fuel from 8 a.m. till 6 p.m. and closed at all other times on the said respective days : Provided that all such establishments shall be closed for the sale of oil fuel during the whole of every Christmas Day, Good Friday, and Anzac Day, and shall be open for the sale of oil fuel on the day immediately preceding Christmas Day, Good Friday, and New Year’s Day respectively from 8 a.m. till 10.30 p.m., on every Boxing Day and New Year’s Day from 8 a.m. till 9 p.m., on the 2nd January in each year from 8 a.m. till 6 p.m., and on every Easter Monday and Labour Day and on every other Monday observed as a public holiday (other than a public holiday specified herein) from 8 a.m. till 12 noon and closed at all other times on the said respective days.

In every successive week commencing upon the coming into force of this Order one of the establishments hereinafter named shall in the weekly rotation hereinafter set out be exempted from the provisions of this Order :—

- Notwithstanding anything hereinbefore contained I may, on receipt of a request signed by a majority of the members of the Petrol Section Committee of the Napier Branch of the New Zealand Retail Motor Trade Association (Inc.), direct, in respect of any particular week, that in the evening of one day in that week the establishments required to observe the hours of closing specified in clause 4 hereof may remain open till such later hour on that day as may be specified by me in such direction, provided that notice of such direction shall be published not later than five days prior to such day in a daily newspaper circulating in the Napier district.
