A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim as stopped the Government road described in the Schedule hereto, such road being no longer required.

Apportionment of Representation on North Canterbury Hospital Board.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 9th day of April, 1941.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

PURSUANT to the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1926, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby order as follows:—

  1. This Order may be cited as the Hospital Representation Order 1941.

  2. The Order in Council made on the twenty-fifth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-five, making provision in regard to the representation of contributory districts on Hospital Boards, is amended by revoking the Second Schedule thereto so far only as it affects the representation of the contributory districts named in the Schedule hereto.

  3. The respective contributory districts, the names of which are set out in the second column of the Schedule hereto and therein bracketed together, are combined into a combined district.

  4. The contributory local authority, the district of which is distinguished in the second column of the Schedule hereto by the letter “(p),” is selected to be the principal contributory local authority of the combined district in which such contributory local authority is included.

  5. The numbers of members to be elected to the Board of the hospital district named in the first column of the Schedule hereto as the representative or representatives of the contributory districts and combined district named and indicated in the second column thereof shall be the numbers specified in the third column thereof respectively.

  6. The following provision is made for particular cases:—
    (a) The date of the first election of an additional representative for the Christchurch City shall be the date of the next ordinary general election of members of Borough Councils.
    (b) The first election of a representative for the Waimairi County shall take place on the date of the next ordinary general election of County Councils.
    (c) The first election of a representative for the combined district of the Riccarton Borough, Sumner Borough, and Lyttelton Borough shall take place on the date of the next ordinary general election of members of Borough Councils.
    (d) The present representatives of the combined district of Waimairi County and Riccarton Borough shall continue to hold office until the date of the next ordinary general election of County Councils, and the present representative of the combined district of Lyttelton Borough, New Brighton Borough, and Sumner Borough shall continue to hold office until the date of the next ordinary general election of Borough Councils.
