Appointments, Promotions, and Transfers of Officers on Active
Service with the 2nd N.Z. Expeditionary Force Overseas.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to
confirm the following appointments, promotions, and
transfers of officers on active service with the 2nd New
Zealand Expeditionary Force overseas, vide List 19:—

APPOINTMENTS.
Commands and Staff.

Brigadier R. Miles, D.S.O., M.C., is appointed Officer
Commanding Artillery, 2nd N.Z. Expeditionary Force.
Dated 5th January, 1940.

Lieutenant-Colonel S. F. Allen is appointed Officer Com-
manding Signal Services, 2nd N.Z. Expeditionary
Force. Dated 5th January, 1940.

Lieutenant-Colonel S. H. Crump, O.B.E., is appointed
Officer Commanding Army Service Corps, 2nd N.Z.
Expeditionary Force. Dated 5th January, 1940.

Major T. H. E. Oakes, M.C., relinquishes the appointment
of second in command, 5th Field Regiment, N.Z. Artillery,
and is appointed second in command, 7th Anti-Tank
Regiment, N.Z. Artillery. Dated 26th February, 1941.

Major M. A. Bull is appointed second in command, 5th
Field Regiment, N.Z. Artillery. Dated 26th February,
1941.

Major B. J. Mathewson relinquishes command of No. 1
Prisoner of War Camp. Dated 27th February, 1941.

Major R. V. Closey, M.C., E.D., is appointed to command
No. 1 Prisoner of War Camp. Dated 27th February,
1941.

Captain J. A. D. Ritchie, E.D., 2nd N.Z. Divisional
Cavalry, is attached to Headquarters, 2nd N.Z. Division,
and is seconded. Dated 1st March, 1941.

Captain A. N. Grigg, M.C., relinquishes the appointment of
Staff Captain, Headquarters, 2nd N.Z. Divisional
Artillery, and is appointed second in command, Artillery
Training Regiment. Dated 26th February, 1941.

Captain C. F. Crosbie is attached to the N.Z. Army Service
Corps as Ammunition Officer, and is seconded. Dated
26th February, 1941.

Captain L. N. McKay is appointed Staff Captain, Head-
quarters, 2nd N.Z. Divisional Artillery, and is seconded.
Dated 26th February, 1941.

Captain J. C. Porter, 25th (Wellington) Battalion, is
appointed Brigade Transport Officer, 6th N.Z. Infantry
Brigade, and is seconded. Dated 17th February, 1941.

Captain H. Turner, N.Z. Army Service Corps, is appointed
Manager, N.Z. Forces Club, Cairo, and is seconded.
Dated 4th December, 1940.

Captain S. G. Forbes, N.Z. Army Service Corps, is appointed
Instructor, Royal Army Service Corps School, Moascar,
and is seconded. Dated 10th February, 1941.

Lieutenant J. M. L. McCredie is appointed Intelligence
Officer, Headquarters, 2nd N.Z. Divisional Artillery, and
is seconded. Dated 23rd February, 1941.

Lieutenant N. Bancks, 25th (Wellington) Battalion, is
appointed to command Field Security Section, 2nd
N.Z. Expeditionary Force, and is seconded. Dated
1st February, 1941.

2nd Lieutenant J. L. Griffiths, 32nd (Wellington) Battalion,
is appointed Aide-de-Camp to the General Officer
Commanding, Headquarters, 2nd N.Z. Division, and is
seconded. Dated 14th February, 1941.

Major while holding the appointment of Brigade Major,
4th Infantry Brigade. Dated 11th November, 1940.

22nd (Wellington) Battalion.

Lieutenant C. Follick is granted the temporary rank of
Captain while holding the appointment of Transport
Officer, 5th N.Z. Infantry Brigade. Dated 16th June,
1940.

N.Z. Army Service Corps.

Captain E. P. Davis is granted the temporary rank of
Major to complete establishment. Dated 25th February,
1941.

N.Z. Ordnance Corps.

Lieutenant G. D. Pollock is granted the temporary rank
of Captain while commanding No. 1 N.Z. Field Work-
shops. Dated 28th February, 1941.

TRANSFERS.

The following transfers are made from the Reconnaissance
Squadron on its being disbanded, dated 28th February, 1941,
the officers concerned retaining their relative seniority:—

Captain J. A. D. Ritchie to 2nd N.Z. Divisional Cavalry.
Lieutenant W. J. Daniel to 31st (Auckland) Battalion.
Lieutenant D. F. Coleman to 33rd (Canterbury-Otago)
Battalion.

(The last two named officers are attached to the N.Z.
Army Service Corps.)

Lieutenant L. A. Radford is transferred from the N.Z.
Artillery to the N.Z. Army Service Corps, with seniority
