Revoking a Warrant declaring an Area to be a Closely Populated
Locality and declaring an Area to be a Closely Populated
Locality for the Purposes of the Motor-vehicles Amendment
Act, 1936, Section 3.
IN terms of section 3 of the Motor-vehicles Amendment
Act, 1936, and of all other powers enabling him in that
behalf, the Minister of Transport does hereby revoke the
Warrant dated the 21st day of December, 1936, and
published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 92 of the 22nd day
of December, 1936, at page 2507, which declares portion of
the Mount Roskill Road District to be a closely populated
locality, and does hereby declare the area described in the
Schedule hereto to be a closely populated locality for the
purposes of the said section to the intent that a person driving
any motor-vehicle on any road, street, or other place to which
the public have access therein shall be subject to the
maximum speed-limit of thirty miles an hour fixed by the
said section.
SCHEDULE.
SITUATED within Mount Roskill Road District--
All that portion of Mount Roskill Road District as now
constituted, situated generally to the north of Mount
Albert Road and including the said road; also all that
portion, bounded by a line commencing at the inter-
section of the south-western boundary of Mount Albert
Road and the north-western boundary of May Road,
and proceeding in a south-easterly direction along the
said boundary of Mount Albert Road to its intersection
with the eastern boundary of Winstone Road; thence
in a generally southerly direction along the eastern
boundaries of Winstone Road, Somerset Road, and
Bristol Road to a point opposite the south-western
boundary of Lowery Avenue; thence across Bristol
Road and in a north-westerly direction along the said
south-western boundary of Lowery Avenue to its inter-
section with the south-eastern boundary of Dominion
Road and continuing in the same line across Dominion
Road; thence in a north-easterly direction along the
north-western boundary of Dominion Road to its inter-
section with the south-western boundary of Denbigh
Avenue; thence in a north-westerly direction along the
south-western boundary of Denbigh Avenue to its inter-
section with the south-eastern boundary of May Road
and continuing in the same line across May Road;
thence in a north-easterly direction along the north-
western boundary of May Road to the commencing
point; also all that portion of Waikowhai Park Road,
bounded to the north by Mount Albert Road, bounded
to the west by the western boundary of Waikowhai
Park Road, hereinafter described as the said road,
bounded to the east by the eastern boundary of the said
road, and bounded to the south by a right line across
the said road at a distance of 5 chains measured along
the western boundary of the said road from its inter-
section with the southern boundary of Marie Avenue;
the boundaries of the whole area being indicated by a
green border on the plan marked TT. 1658, and
deposited in the office of the Transport Department at
Wellington.
