HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to confirm the following appointments, promotions, and transfers of officers on Active Service with the 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force overseas, vide List No. 15 :—
APPOINTMENTS.
Commands and Staff.
Brigadier E. Puttick, D.S.O., A.D.C. to the King, resumes command of the 4th N.Z. Infantry Brigade. Dated 8th January, 1941.
Lieutenant-Colonel (temp. Brigadier) L. M. Inglis, M.C., V.D., relinquishes the temporary command of the 4th N.Z. Infantry Brigade, but retains the temporary rank of Brigadier. Dated 8th January, 1941.
Lieutenant-Colonel (temp. Brigadier) L. M. Inglis, M.C., V.D., is appointed to command the Infantry Training Brigade. Dated 15th January, 1941.
Major J. M. Allen is appointed to command the 30th (Auckland) Battalion. Dated 15th January, 1941.
Major S. F. Hartnell is appointed to command the 31st (Wellington) Battalion temporarily. Dated 15th January, 1941.
Major (temp. Lieutenant-Colonel) F. L. Hunt is appointed to command the 32nd (Canterbury-Otago) Battalion. Dated 15th January, 1941.
Captain (temp. Major) R. H. Bell, 2nd N.Z. Divisional Cavalry, is appointed Deputy Assistant Adjutant-General, 2nd N.Z. Expeditionary Force Base, vice Major A. R. Cockerell, D.S.O., and is seconded. Dated 15th January, 1941.
Major A. R. Cockerell, D.S.O., relinquishes the appointment of Deputy Assistant Adjutant-General, 2nd N.Z. Expeditionary Force Base, is appointed Brigade Major, Infantry Training Brigade, and remains seconded. Dated 15th January, 1941.
Captain P. L. Bennett, M.C., 25th (Wellington) Battalion, is appointed Staff Captain, Infantry Training Brigade, and is seconded. Dated 15th January, 1941.
Major D. T. Maxwell relinquishes the appointment of General Staff Officer, 2nd Grade, 2nd N.Z. Division, and is appointed General Staff Officer, 2nd Grade, 2nd N.Z. Expeditionary Force Base, and remains seconded. Dated 17th January, 1941.
Major F. L. H. Davis relinquishes the appointment of General Staff Officer, 3rd Grade (Operations), 2nd N.Z. Division, and is appointed General Staff Officer, 2nd Grade, 2nd N.Z. Division, and remains seconded. Dated 17th January, 1941.
Lieutenant J. M. Elliott relinquishes the appointment of General Staff Officer, 3rd Grade (Chemical Warfare), 2nd N.Z. Division, and is appointed General Staff Officer, 3rd Grade (Operations), 2nd N.Z. Division, and remains seconded. Dated 17th January, 1941.
