GERALDINE COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
—
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the
Geraldine County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
“ That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £10,000, authorized to be raised by
the Geraldine County Council under the above-mentioned Act,
for the purpose of making advances to farmers for the erection
of dwellings under the Rural Housing Act, 1939, the said
Geraldine County Council hereby makes and levies a special
rate of one thirty-second of a penny (3½d.) in the pound upon
the rateable value of all rateable property of the county
comprising the whole of the County of Geraldine, and that
such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during
the currency of such loan and be paid yearly on the 1st
day of April in each and every year during the currency of
such loan, being a period of twenty-five years or until the
loan is fully paid off.”

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

Rural Housing Loan No. 1, 1940, £2,000.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the
Waihemo County Council resolves as follows:—
“ That, for the purpose of providing the interest and
other charges on a loan of £2,000 (two thousand pounds),
authorized to be raised by the Waihemo County Council
under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of making
advances to farmers for the erection of dwellings under the
Rural Housing Act, 1939, the said Waihemo County Council
hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-thirtieth of
one penny (30d.) in the pound upon the rateable value on
the basis of the capital value of all rateable property of
the special-rating area comprising the whole of the County
of Waihemo, and that such special rate shall be an annual-
recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be
payable yearly on the 8th day of September in each and
every year during the currency of such loan, being a period
of twenty-five (25) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
I hereby certify the above to be a true copy of a resolution
passed by the Waihemo County Council on the 17th day of
February, 1941.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the
provisions of the Education Act, 1914, and its amend-
ments, to execute a certain public work—namely, to acquire
a school-site and playgrounds in the town of Collingwood—
and for the purpose of such public work the land described
in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken under the
provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928; and notice is
hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to
be taken is deposited at the public school at Collingwood
and is there open for inspection, and that all persons affected
by the execution of the said public work or by the taking
of the said land are required, if they have any well-grounded
objection to the execution of the said public work or to the
taking of the said land, to set forth the same in writing and
send such writing within forty days from the first publication
of this notice to the Education Board of the District of
Nelson at its address in Shelbourne Street in the City of
Nelson.
