Lieutenant-Colonel D. A. C. Lilburne, E.D., The Wellington West Coast Regiment, relinquishes command of the 1st Battalion and is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), Area 6. Dated 1st August, 1941.

N.Z. CORPS OF SIGNALS.

2nd Lieutenant (temp.) A. W. Keyes, B.Sc., A.N.Z.I.C., M.I.Ave.E. (Aust.), 2nd Signals Company, resigns his commission on appointment to a commission in the Royal N.Z. Air Force. Dated 23rd November, 1941.

THE AUCKLAND REGIMENT (COUNTESS OF RANFURLY’S OWN).

Francis Desmond Choate to be 2nd Lieutenant (temp.), and is posted to the 3rd Cadet Battalion. Dated 11th November, 1941.

THE HAURAKI REGIMENT.

Lieutenant J. A. Halkett, 1st Battalion, is posted to the Retired List. Dated 6th November, 1941.

NATIONAL MILITARY RESERVE.

Lieutenant J. T. Kibblewhite, 19th Company (Oamaru), is granted the temporary rank of Captain. Dated 1st June, 1941.

N.Z. ARMY SERVICE CORPS.

2nd Lieutenant (temp.) P. R. Grant, 2nd Reserve Mechanical Transport Company, relinquishes his appointment in the N.Z. Temporary Staff on transfer to Unit Cadre. Dated 15th November, 1941.

Captain P. A. Bergman, 3rd Composite Company, relinquishes his appointment in the N.Z. Temporary Staff, is appointed to command the 3rd Composite Company, and is granted the temporary rank of Major. Dated 3rd November, 1941.

2nd Lieutenant T. D. Maisey, 5th Composite Company, is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant. Dated 20th November, 1941.

N.Z. ORDNANCE CORPS.

2nd Lieutenant (temp.) J. R. Phillips, 22nd Light Aid Detachment, is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant. Dated 15th November, 1941.

Stanley Maurice Fletcher to be 2nd Lieutenant (temp.), and is posted to the 21st Light Aid Detachment. Dated 15th November, 1941.

Melville D’Arcy Wilkens to be 2nd Lieutenant (temp.), and is posted to the 28th Light Aid Detachment. Dated 15th November, 1941.

N.Z. CHAPLAINS DEPARTMENT.

The Rev. K. H. Evans, Chaplain, 4th Class (Presbyterian), is transferred from Area 3 to Area 5. Dated 25th November, 1941.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the following appointments, promotions, transfers, and resignations of officers of the New Zealand Military Forces:—

STAFF.

Lieutenant-Colonel (temp. Colonel) R. A. Row, D.S.O., N.Z. Staff Corps, resumes command of the Northern Field Force, Auckland. Dated 22nd October, 1941.

Lieutenant-Colonel (temp. Colonel) L. G. Goss, N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Colonel, General Staff, Army Headquarters, and the temporary rank of Colonel on being seconded to the 2nd N.Z. Expeditionary Force. Dated 10th November, 1941.

Major (temp. Colonel) D. E. Bremner, M.C., N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes command of the Northern Field Force, Auckland, is appointed to command a Brigade, Northern Military District, and retains the temporary rank of Colonel while so employed. Dated 22nd October, 1941.

Captain C. A. N. Pilcher, N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Quartermaster, Artillery Training Regiment, Mobilization Camp, Papakura, and is appointed Quartermaster, No. 3 Training Battalion Mobilization Camp, Papakura. Dated 1st November, 1941.

Lieutenant P. C. Holway, N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Adjutant, The North Auckland Mounted Rifles, and is appointed Instructor (temp.), Northern Military District School of Instruction, Narrow Neck, supernumerary to establishment. Dated 11th November, 1941.

N.Z. STAFF CORPS.

Captain D. I. C. Bryan, from the Reserve of Officers, to be Captain, and is appointed General Staff Officer, 3rd Grade (Home Guard), Central Military District Headquarters, Wellington. Dated 17th November, 1941.

N.Z. PERMANENT ARMY SERVICE CORPS.

W.O. II (temp.) Walter Gordon Quartermain to be Lieutenant and Quartermaster (temp.), and is appointed Assistant Supply Officer, Southern Military District. Dated 13th November, 1941.

N.Z. ARMY ORDNANCE CORPS.

W.O. I (Armament Sergeant-Major) William Charles Hastings to be Lieutenant and Quartermaster (temp.), and is appointed Officer in Charge, Ordnance Workshops, Burnham. Dated 21st October, 1941.

N.Z. TEMPORARY STAFF.

Captain A. J. Gillman, 1st Cadet Battalion, The Otago Regiment, to be Captain (temp.), and is appointed General Staff Officer, 3rd Grade, Home Guard, Area No. 11, Dunedin. Dated 31st October, 1941.

Captain A. F. E. Tylee, B.Sc., relinquishes the appointment of Adjutant, 3rd Field Company, and 7th (Works) Company, Corps of N.Z. Engineers, and is appointed Assistant Works Officer, Southern Military District, Christchurch. Dated 10th November, 1941.

2nd Lieutenant (temp. Lieutenant) T. L. Fancourt, B.E. (Civil), 3rd Field Company, Corps of N.Z. Engineers, to be Lieutenant (temp.), and is appointed Adjutant, 3rd Field Company and 7th (Works) Company, Corps of N.Z. Engineers, Christchurch. Dated 10th November, 1941.

Lieutenant H. Mulholland is granted the temporary rank of Captain. Dated 1st November, 1941.

Harold Edwin Wallace to be Lieutenant (temp.), and is appointed Officer in Charge, Workshops, Devonport. Dated 29th October, 1941.

Lieutenant H. L. Thomson relinquishes the appointment of Company Commander, No. 2 Training Battalion, Mobilization Camp, Papakura, and is appointed Adjutant, Northern Military District School of Instruction, Narrow Neck, vice Captain G. P. Leane, M.C. Dated 4th November, 1941.

Lieutenant H. M. Inkster resigns his commission. Dated 8th November, 1941.

Joseph Alexander Clark to be Lieutenant (temp.), and is appointed Area Mechanical Transport Officer, No. 1 Area, Auckland, vice Lieutenant D. T. L. Fleming, seconded to the 2nd N.Z. Expeditionary Force. Dated 10th November, 1941.

Lieutenant J. E. Pavitt relinquishes the appointment of District Workshops Officer, Southern Military District, and is appointed Assistant District Transport Officer, Southern Military District, Christchurch. Dated 12th November, 1941.

2nd Lieutenant M. F. Miles, Company Commander, No. 4 Training Battalion, Mobilization Camp, Trentham, is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant while so employed. Dated 1st November, 1941.

Wilhour Alfred Gillies to be 2nd Lieutenant (temp.), and is appointed Area Mechanical Transport Officer, No. 5 Area, Wellington. Dated 3rd November, 1941.

Lieutenant (temp.) A. J. Mackintosh, The North Auckland Mounted Rifles, to be 2nd Lieutenant (temp.), and is appointed Adjutant, The North Auckland Mounted Rifles. Dated 11th November, 1941.

2nd Lieutenant K. S. Brown relinquishes the appointment of Area Mechanical Transport Officer, Area No. 11, and is appointed District Workshops Officer, Southern Military District, Burnham. Dated 12th November, 1941.

COMMAND.

Lieutenant-Colonel S. D. Mason, C.B.E., E.D., relinquishes his appointment in the N.Z. Temporary Staff, dated 27th October, 1941, and resumes the appointment of Officer Commanding, 3rd N.Z. Infantry Brigade, and the temporary rank of Colonel, dated 28th October, 1941.

THE AUCKLAND (EAST COAST) MOUNTED RIFLES.

Percival Thomas Jarrett to be Bandmaster, and is granted the honorary rank of Lieutenant. Dated 1st September, 1941.

THE MANAWATU MOUNTED RIFLES.

Lieutenant and Quartermaster F. Carpenter is granted the temporary rank of Captain and Quartermaster. Dated 1st October, 1941.
