HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the following appointments, promotions, transfers, resignations, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Military Forces:—
STAFF.
Major P. R. Woodhouse, D.S.O., M.C., V.D., M.B., Ch.B., N.Z. Medical Corps, is appointed Deputy Assistant Director of Medical Services, Southern Military District, Christchurch. Dated 24th November, 1941.
Lieutenant A. V. Neal, 2nd N.Z. Expeditionary Force, is granted the temporary rank of Captain, at overseas rates of pay, whilst holding the appointment of Technical Adjutant, Armoured Fighting Vehicles School, Waiouru. Dated 13th September, 1941.

Lieutenant-Colonel (Brigadier, 2nd N.Z.E.F.) W. G. Stevens, C.B.E., Regiment of Royal N.Z. Artillery, to be Colonel. Dated 1st August, 1941.

N.Z. TEMPORARY STAFF.
Lieutenant-Colonel R. S. McQuarrie, D.S.O., M.C., 2nd Field Regiment, N.Z. Artillery, to be Lieutenant-Colonel (temp.), and is appointed Area Commander, Area No. 8, New Plymouth. Dated 31st October, 1941.
Captain J. H. Cowdrey, Deputy Director of Hygiene (Army and Air Force), is granted the temporary rank of Major. Dated 25th November, 1941.
Captain G. W. Gent resigns his commission. Dated 15th October, 1941.
Lieutenant G. T. Booth, M.M., Quartermaster, No. 4 Training Battalion, Mobilization Camp, Trentham, is granted the temporary rank of Captain while so employed. Dated 20th November, 1941.
Hubert Waters Jacka to be Lieutenant (temp.), and is appointed Assistant District Engineer Works Officer, Northern Military District. Dated 22nd November, 1941.
2nd Lieutenant S. B. Probert, Reserve of Officers, Supplementary List, to be Lieutenant (temp.), and is appointed Records Officer, Area No. 2, Paeroa. Dated 26th November, 1941.
2nd Lieutenant E. V. Marriott, Assistant District Transport Officer, Central Military District, is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant. Dated 25th November, 1941.
2nd Lieutenant (temp.) N. B. Riach, 3rd Composite Company, N.Z. Army Service Corps, to be Lieutenant (temp.), and is appointed Adjutant, 3rd Composite Company, N.Z. Army Service Corps, vice Captain P. A. Bergman. Dated 3rd November, 1941.
2nd Lieutenant J. N. Crawford, Company Commander, No. 4 Training Battalion, Mobilization Camp, Trentham, is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant. Dated 1st November, 1941.
