Member appointed to Orari Gorge Scenic Board.
GALWAY, Governor-General.
WHEREAS by a Warrant dated the fourteenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-eight, and published in the Gazette of the twenty-fourth day of that month, the control of a certain reserve in the Canterbury Land District, known as the Orari Gorge Scenic Reserve, was vested in certain persons therein named, who were by the said Warrant constituted a special Board by the name of the Orari Gorge Scenic Board, in pursuance of section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908: And whereas it is desirable that John Mather Polhill should be appointed a member of the said Board in place of Robert Yates, deceased:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby appoint the said
John Mather Polhill
to be a member of the Orari Gorge Scenic Board constituted by the Warrant dated the fourteenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-eight, hereinbefore referred to, in place of the said Robert Yates.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 16th day of September, 1940.
