MASTERTON COUNTY COUNCIL.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of the Counties’ Act, 1920, and the Public
Works Act, 1928.

N OTICE is hereby given that the Masterton County
Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-
mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely,
the construction of a public road—and for the purposes of
such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto
are required to be taken: And notice is hereby further
given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is
deposited in the public office of the County Clerk to the said
Council, situate at Chapel Street, Masterton, and is open
for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary
office hours. All persons affected by the execution of the
said public work or by the taking of such lands, who have
any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said
public work or to the taking of the said lands, must state
their objections in writing and send the same within forty
(40) days from the first publication of this notice to the
Masterton County Council, at the aforesaid office.

SCHEDULE.

Approximate area of lands proposed to be taken: 2 acres
0 roods 17·1 perches.
Being portion of Township of Wardell, being part Tauma-
taraia Block No. 83n.
Situate in Block III, Otahoua Survey District; and
coloured red on plan.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

Wellington City Street Widening Renewal Loan, 1919, Repay-
ment Loan, 1930, Repayment Loan, 1940.

The following resolution was duly passed at a meeting of
the Wellington City Council held on the 14th day of August,
1940:—

I N pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the provisions of the Local Bodies’
Loans Act, 1926, and in pursuance and exercise of all other
powers and authorities enabling it in this behalf, the
Wellington City Council hereby resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest,
principal, and other charges on a special loan of forty-
seven thousand pounds (£47,000), to be known as the
“ Wellington City Street Widening Renewal Loan, 1919,
Repayment Loan, 1930, Repayment Loan, 1940,”
authorized to be raised by the Wellington City Council
under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of
repaying in London to the extent that sinking funds are
insufficient the Wellington City Street Widening Renewal
Loan, 1919, Repayment Loan, 1930, which matures on
the 1st day of December, 1940, the said Wellington
City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of
forty-one eight hundredths of a penny (⁴¹⁄₈₀₀d.) in the
pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the
unimproved value) of all rateable property in the whole
of the City of Wellington; and that such special
rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency
of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of
April in each and every year during currency of such
loan, being the period of twenty (20) years from the
1st day of December, 1940, or until the loan is fully
paid off.”

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

Wellington City Water-supply Loan, 1920, Renewal Loan,
1940.

The following resolution was duly passed at a meeting
of the Wellington City Council held on the 14th day of
August, 1940:—

I N pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and
in pursuance and exercise of all other powers and authorities
enabling it in this behalf, the Wellington City Council hereby
resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest,
principal, and other charges on a special loan of five
hundred and thirty-seven thousand six hundred pounds
(£537,600), to be known as the “ Wellington City Water-
supply Loan, 1920, Renewal Loan, 1940,” authorized
to be raised by the Wellington City Council under the
above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of repaying in
London to the extent that sinking funds shall be insuffi-
cient the Wellington City Water-supply Loan, 1920,
which matures on the 1st day of December, 1940, the
said Wellington City Council hereby makes and levies
a special rate of four hundred and sixty-one eight
hundredths of a penny (⁴⁶¹⁄₈₀₀d.) in the pound upon the
rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value)
of all rateable property of the City of Wellington, com-
prising the whole of the City of Wellington; and that
such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate
during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly
on the 1st day of April in each and every year during
the currency of such loan, being a period of twelve (12)
years from the 1st day of December, 1940, or until the
loan is fully paid off.”

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and in the
matter of THE THAMES VALLEY FIBRE CO., LTD. (in
Voluntary Liquidation).

N OTICE is hereby given, pursuant to section 222, that
by an entry in its minute-book, in terms of section 300,
dated the 14th day of August, 1940, the Thames Valley
Fibre Co., Ltd., resolved as an extraordinary resolution:—

  1. That the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities,
    continue its business and that it is advisable to wind up and
    that the company be wound up voluntarily.

  2. That FRANCIS ALBERT ALDRIDGE, of Christchurch,
    Company Secretary, be, and is hereby appointed liquidator
    of the company.

Notice is hereby given, pursuant to section 234, that a
meeting of the creditors of the company will be held at the
registered office of the company, 176 Hereford Street, Christ-
church, on Saturday, the 24th day of August, 1940, at
10 o’clock in the forenoon.

by an entry in its minute-book, in terms of section
300, dated the 14th day of August, 1940, the Poplar Flax-
milling Co., Ltd., resolved as an extraordinary resolution:—

  1. That the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities,
    continue its business and that it is advisable to wind up
    and that the company be wound up voluntarily.

  2. That FRANCIS ALBERT ALDRIDGE, of Christchurch,
    Company Secretary, be, and is hereby appointed liquidator
    of the company.

Notice is hereby given, pursuant to section 234, that a
meeting of the creditors of the company will be held at the
registered office of the company, 176 Hereford Street, Christ-
church, on Saturday, the 24th day of August, 1940, at 10.30
o’clock in the forenoon.
