IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and in the matter of THE WAIROA FLAXMILLS, LIMITED (in Voluntary Liquidation).

NOTICE is hereby given, pursuant to section 222, that by an entry in its minute-book, in terms of section 300, dated the 14th day of August, 1940, the Wairoa Flaxmills, Limited, resolved as an extraordinary resolution:—

  1. That the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business and that it is advisable to wind up and that the company be wound up voluntarily.

  2. That FRANCIS ALBERT ALDRIDGE, of Christchurch, Company Secretary, be, and is hereby appointed liquidator of the company.

Notice is hereby given, pursuant to section 234, that a meeting of the creditors of the company will be held at the registered office of the company, 176 Hereford Street, Christchurch, on Saturday, the 24th day of August, 1940, at 11 o’clock in the forenoon.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and in the matter of THE BERRY ENGINEERING WORKS, LIMITED.

NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for the winding up of the above-named company by the Supreme Court was, on the 12th day of August, 1940, presented to the said Court by Zenas Jefferson Berry, of Palmerston North, Engineer. And the said petition is directed to be heard before the Court sitting at Wellington, on the 30th day of August, 1940, at 10 o’clock in the forenoon; and any creditor or contributory of the said company desirous to support or oppose the making of an order on the said petition may appear at the time of hearing in person or by his counsel for that purpose; and a copy of the petition will be furnished to any creditor or contributory of the said company requiring the same by the undersigned on payment of the regulated charge for the same.

The notice must state the name, address, and description of the person, or, if a firm, the name, address, and description of the firm, and an address for service within three miles of the office of the Supreme Court at Palmerston North, and (must be signed by the person or firm, or his or their solicitor (if any), and must be served, or, if posted, must be sent by post in sufficient time to reach the above-named petitioner’s address for service not later than four o’clock in the afternoon of the 29th day of August, 1940.

NOTICE OF CHANGE OF NAME.

I, HENRY GOOT, heretofore called and known by the name of HIRSCH GUT, of Palmerston North, in the Dominion of New Zealand, Student, hereby give public notice that on the 29th day of July, 1940, I formally and absolutely renounced, relinquished, and abandoned the use of my said name of Hirsch Gut and then assumed and adopted and determined thenceforth on all occasions whatsoever to use and subscribe the name of HENRY GOOT instead of the said name Hirsch Gut.

And I give further notice that by a deed-poll dated the 29th day of July, 1940, duly executed and attested and enrolled at the office of the Supreme Court of New Zealand at Wellington on the 16th day of August, 1940, I formally and absolutely renounced and abandoned the said name of Hirsch Gut and declared that I had assumed and adopted and intended thenceforth upon all occasions whatsoever to use and subscribe the name of HENRY GOOT instead of Hirsch Gut and so as to be at all times thereafter called, known, and described by the name of HENRY GOOT exclusively.

I, DAVID HENRY BUTTERWORTH, of Ellerslie, in the Provincial District of Auckland in New Zealand, Casing-classer, formerly called and known by the name of DAVID HENRY KELLY, hereby give notice that on the 6th day of August, 1940, I assumed the surname of BUTTERWORTH in lieu of the surname of KELLY and that thereafter I shall use the name of DAVID HENRY BUTTERWORTH in lieu of DAVID HENRY KELLY; and, further, that the assumption of such surname of BUTTERWORTH is evidenced by a deed-poll dated 6th day of August, 1940, duly attested and enrolled in the office of the Supreme Court of New Zealand, at Auckland, on the 7th day of August, 1940.
