Notice of Intention to take Land for Road in Blocks XI and XV, Purua Survey District.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Maungatapere and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

Notice under the Enemy Trading Emergency Regulations 1939.—Declaration of an Enemy Trader.
I, DANIEL GILES SULLIVAN, Minister of Industries and Commerce, being satisfied that the company mentioned in the Schedule hereto is carrying on business substantially for the benefit of alien enemies resident out of New Zealand, do hereby in pursuance of Regulation 3 of the Enemy Trading Emergency Regulations 1939, declare the said company to be an enemy trader for the purpose of the said regulations.
Dated at Wellington, this 4th day of August, 1940.

Warrant under the Enemy Property Emergency Regulations 1939, of the Appointment of the Public Trustee as the Controller of Enemy Business.
WHEREAS the company mentioned in the Schedule hereto and carrying on business in New Zealand has, in pursuance of Regulation 3 of the Enemy Trading Emergency Regulations 1939, been declared to be an enemy trader for the purposes of those regulations:
Now, therefore, I, Daniel Giles Sullivan, Minister of Industries and Commerce, in the exercise of the authority conferred upon me by Regulation 9 of the Enemy Property Emergency Regulations 1939, do hereby appoint the Public Trustee as the Controller of the business of the said company.

Notice respecting Proposed Alteration of Boundaries.—Town District of Taradale.
Department of Internal Affairs, Wellington, 6th August, 1940.
IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the Town Boards Act, 1908, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be excluded from the County of Hawke's Bay and included in the Town District of Taradale.
All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed alteration of boundaries which they desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections. or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
AREA PROPOSED TO BE EXCLUDED FROM COUNTY OF HAWKE'S BAY AND INCLUDED IN THE TOWN DISTRICT OF TARADALE.
ALL that area in the Hawke's Bay Land District bounded on the south by the Taradale Town District, on the west by Church Road, on the north by Park Road, and on the east by Guppy Road North.

The Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22.—Fixing the Closing-hours of Grocers’ Shops within the Town District of Havelock North.
WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all grocers’ shops within the Town District of Havelock North, has been forwarded to me desiring that all such shops within the said town district be closed in the evening of working-days as follows: On Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 5.30 p.m., and Fridays at 8.30 p.m.:
And whereas I, Patrick Charles Webb, Minister of Labour, am satisfied that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the said shops within the said town district:
Now, therefore, in pursuance of section 32 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, I do hereby direct that on and after the 26th day of August, 1940, all the grocers’ shops within the Town District of Havelock North shall be closed accordingly.

WHEREAS a petition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all grocers’ shops within the Town District of Havelock North, has been forwarded to me, desiring that the sale of certain goods comprised in the trade of a grocer—namely, tea, cocoa, coffee, sugar, flour, spices, condiments (other than sauce and pickles), candles, cornflour, cereals, sardines and other tinned fish, soda, soap (other than toilet soap), starch, blue, dried fruits, vinegar, baking powder, jam, culinary essences, jellies, salt, boot and floor polishes, meat pastes and fish pastes, syrup and treacle, honey, almonds (out of shell), ground almonds, arrowroot, asparagus (in tins or preserved), beans (in tins), blancmange (powder), black lead, borax, cake powders, capers, caustic soda (in tins), cornflakes and similar lines, curry powders, dyes, egg preservatives, egg substitutes, gelatine, gravy preparations, hops, isinglass, meat extracts, oils (olive, salad, cooking), olives in bottles or tins, peas (dried or in tins), rennet, soups (in tins, packets, or bottles), sweet corn in tins, macaroni, coffee essence, custard powder, vermicelli, cream of
