Declaring a Bobby Calf Marketing Pool Area.
PURSUANT to the Bobby Calf Marketing Regulations 1939, I, Walter Nash, Minister of Marketing, being satisfied that a sufficient majority of the producers in the area of land defined in the Schedule hereto are desirous that such area should be declared to be a pool area for the marketing of bobby calves, do hereby declare such area of land, defined as aforesaid, to be a Bobby Calf Marketing Pool Area for the purposes of the said regulations under the name set out in the said Schedule, and I do hereby declare that this notice shall take effect on the 15th day of August, 1940.
SCHEDULE.
LEESTON BOBBY CALF MARKETING POOL AREA.
ALL that area of land situated within the Ellesmere County and bounded by a line commencing at the point where the Main Dunsandel Road crosses the railway-line in the southern portion of Block VIII, Selwyn Survey District; thence continuing in a generally south-easterly direction along the Main Dunsandel Road to its junction with Cowan’s Road in Block I, Southbridge Survey District; thence along Cowan’s Road to the Taumutu and Bridges’ Road and continuing down this road in a south-easterly direction to the boundary of the Lakeside-Sedgemere Bobby Calf Marketing Pool Area near the junction of the said road with Clark’s Road; thence continuing around the said boundary in a generally north-easterly and then south-easterly direction to the shore of Lake Ellesmere; thence around the shore of Lake Ellesmere in a generally north-easterly direction to the mouth of the Selwyn River; thence continuing upstream along the Selwyn River in a generally north-westerly direction to the Main Trunk Railway-line; thence along the said railway-line in a south-westerly direction to the Main Dunsandel Road, being the original point of commencement, farms on both sides of any boundary roads to be deemed to be included within the area.

WHENUAKURA-WAVERLEY BOBBY CALF MARKETING POOL AREA.
ALL that area of land situated within the Patea County and bounded by a line commencing at the point where the northern boundary of Block XIV, Opaku Survey District, meets the Patea River; thence proceeding in a generally easterly direction along the said boundary to the Whenuakura River; thence down-stream in a generally southerly direction along the said river to the southern boundary of Block XV, Opaku Survey District; thence in a generally easterly direction along the southern boundaries of Blocks XV and XVI, Opaku Survey District, to the boundary between the Wellington and the Taranaki Land Districts; thence in a south-westerly direction along the said boundary to the north-western corner of Block II, Wairoa Survey District; thence in a generally easterly direction along the northern boundaries of Blocks II, III, and IV, Wairoa Survey District, to the north-eastern corner of Block IV aforesaid; thence in a southerly direction along the eastern boundaries of Blocks IV and IX, Wairoa Survey District, to the Waitotara River at Section 8, Block IX aforesaid; thence down-stream in a generally south-westerly direction along the Waitotara River to the sea-coast; thence along the sea-coast in a generally north-westerly direction to the mouth of the Patea River and continuing up-stream along the Patea River in a generally northerly direction to the northern boundary of Block XIV, Opaku Survey District, being the original point of commencement.

The Sharebrokers Act, 1908.—Amendments to Rules of the Wellington Stock Exchange.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General in Council has been pleased to approve the following amendments to the rules of the Wellington Stock Exchange.

WELLINGTON STOCK EXCHANGE.
Rule 56 : Alter to read :—
Any member who desires to resign his membership and forthwith to propose a candidate for membership in his stead (or to cause such a candidate to be proposed by some other member) shall lodge with the Secretary notice in writing of his resignation and at the same time submit in writing, signed either by himself or by some other member, a proposal for the election of such candidate. In the event of such candidate being rejected, the member may propose or have so proposed another candidate or candidates until some candidate shall have been elected. Pending the election of such candidate in the place of such member such member shall retain his membership and all the privileges and obligations thereof but so soon as a candidate proposed in his stead shall have been elected the resignation of such member shall thereupon take effect.
Add the following as subsection (a) :—
(a) Any member who desires to cease carrying on business as a sharebroker but desires meantime to retain his membership shall adopt the following procedure :—
(a) He shall give notice in writing addressed to the Secretary of his intention to cease carrying on the business of a sharebroker as from a date to be stated in such notice and of his desire to avail himself of the provisions set out in this rule.
(b) If such member accordingly ceases to carry on business as a sharebroker on the date so stated in such notice he may at any time within five years from the date of such notice propose in writing or cause to have so proposed by another member a candidate for membership in his stead. In the event of such candidate being rejected, the member may thereupon propose or have so proposed another candidate or candidates until a candidate shall have been elected. If, after any member has given such notice as hereinbefore provided and before any candidate is elected in his stead, such member shall engage in business as a sharebroker either on his own account or in partnership with or in employment by any other sharebroker or shall take or claim to take any part in the affairs of the Exchange the Committee may forthwith by notice in writing end and determine the right of such member to propose or have proposed a candidate for election to membership in his stead and may by such notice terminate the membership of such member.
(c) If a candidate shall be duly elected in the place of a member in the manner provided by this rule, such member shall thereupon be deemed to have resigned his membership. If within the above-mentioned period of five years, no candidate is proposed for membership in the place of the member giving such notice, then after the expiration of such period the Committee may at any time by notice in writing terminate the membership of such member.
(d) Until the membership of a member shall have been terminated or until such member shall be deemed to have resigned his membership as hereinbefore set out, such member shall continue to be liable for his annual subscription and for all other obligations of membership.
Rule 61 : Alter to read :—
The election of a candidate for membership in the place of a resigning or deceased member shall not be proceeded with until all claims which the Exchange or any member or members thereof may have under these rules against such resigning or deceased member or against the member proposing such candidate shall first have been satisfied.
