NOTICE is hereby given that the Registrar of Friendly Societies has, pursuant to section 70 of the Friendly Societies Act, 1909, by writing under his hand dated this 28th day of June, 1940, cancelled the registry of Court Hunterville, No. 7508, of the Wellington District of the Ancient Order of Foresters (Register No. 144/22), held at Hunterville, on the ground that the said branch has ceased to exist.

In the matter of the Administration Act, 1908, and its Amendments, and in the matter of the Estate of Ernest Nicholson Davies, of Paeroa, in the Provincial District of Auckland, Retired Builder, but now deceased.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Public Trustee of the Dominion of New Zealand, on the 19th day of June, 1940, pursuant to the powers in that behalf conferred upon him by section 62 of the above-mentioned Act, filed a certificate in this honourable Court electing to administer the above estate under Part IV of the said Act, and that the said estate will, as from the said date, be administered, realized, and distributed in accordance with the law and practice of bankruptcy.

Notice is further given that I do hereby summon a meeting of creditors of the above estate to be held at the office of the Public Trustee’s Agent in Paeroa, Mr. J. M. Craig, on Tuesday, the 2nd day of July, 1940, at two o’clock in the afternoon.

Notice is finally given that all creditors, whether they have already submitted their claims or not, are required to prove their debts within the time and in the manner provided by the Bankruptcy Act, 1908. Proof-of-debt form may be procured at my office.

DUNEDIN CITY COUNCIL.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1928, and the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, and their Amendments.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Council of the City of Dunedin proposes, under the provisions of the abovenamed Acts, and all other Acts and powers enabling it in that behalf, to execute a certain public work—namely, the widening and the improvement of the bed of the stream called “ Water of Leith ”—and for the purpose of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken; And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so to be taken is deposited in the public Office of the Town Clerk to the said Council situated in The Octagon in the said City and is there open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or the taking of such lands should, if they have well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Dunedin City Council addressed to the Town Clerk at his said office.

Area 16·43 perches.

Being part of Section 10, Block XXXVI, Town of Dunedin; coloured on plan, blue.

Situated in City of Dunedin.

In the Land District of Otago; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan above mentioned.

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of the above-named company duly convened and held on the 25th day of June, 1940, the following extraordinary resolution was passed :-

“ That the Hauraki Mines Consolidated, Limited, cannot by reason of its liabilities continue its business and that it is advisable to wind up, and that the company be wound up voluntarily.”
