Cancelling the Reservation over a Reserve in Town of Opunake, Taranaki Land District.

GALWAY, Governor-General.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 5th day of June, 1940.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by subsection one (b) of section seven of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby cancel the reservation for municipal purposes over the land described in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby declare that the said land, being vested in the Crown, is Crown land available for disposal under the Land Act, 1924.

Changing the Purpose of Portion of a Reserve in Town of Kaikoura, Marlborough Land District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 5th day of June, 1940.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto forms portion of a reserve duly set apart for a site for a Government Building:

And whereas it is expedient that the purpose of the reservation over such land shall be changed to a reserve for a public school site:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by subsection one (a) of section seven of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, doth hereby declare that the purpose of that portion of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto is hereby changed from a reserve for a site for a Government Building to a reserve for a public school site (Kaikoura.)

Revoking the Vesting of Control of Portion of the Hanmer Thermal-springs Reserve, Canterbury Land District.

GALWAY, Governor-General.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 5th day of June, 1940.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.

WHEREAS by an Order in Council dated the third day of March, one thousand nine hundred and eight, and published in the Gazette of the twelfth day of that month, the control of certain reserves was vested in the Minister of the Crown for the time being having the administration of the Tourist and Health Resorts Control Act, 1906:

And whereas it is expedient that the aforesaid Order in Council should be revoked over portion of the land described in the Schedule thereto:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the Order in Council of the third day of March, one thousand nine hundred and eight, aforesaid, in so far as concerns the land described in the Schedule thereto.

SCHEDULE.
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.—PART HANMER THERMAL-SPRINGS RESERVE.
All that area containing by admeasurement 2 acres 0 roods 23·5 perches, more or less, and being part of Reserve 3942, situated in Block II, Lyndon Survey District, and bounded as follows: Towards the north by Section 3, Hanmer Plains Reserve, 263·75 links; towards the east by Conical Hill Road, 680·2 links; towards the south-east by Section 6b 2, Hanmer Plains Reserve, 596·0 links; towards the south-west by Jacks Pass Road, 39·47 links; and towards the north-west and west generally by other part of Reserve 3942, 221·65 links, 70·0 links, 155·76 links, and 689·78 links. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 9/7968, deposited in Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Revoking the Declaration of Main Highways and Declaring Public Highways to be Main Highways.

GALWAY, Governor-General.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 29th day of May, 1940.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by section three of the Main Highways Act, 1922, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that on and after the date of publication of this Order in Council in the Gazette, the portions of main highways described in the First Schedule hereto shall cease to be main highways, and doth further declare that the roads described in the Second Schedule hereto shall be main highways within the meaning and for the purposes of the Main Highways Act, 1922.

FIRST SCHEDULE.
HIGHWAY DISTRICT NO. 9.
Wellington—Auckland via Taranaki.—All that portion of main highway in the Hutt County, commencing at its junction with the Levin—Wellington Main Highway at Paremata, and proceeding thence generally in an easterly and then northerly direction via Pahautanui and the Paekakariki Hill, and terminating at its junction with the Levin—Wellington Main Highway at Paekakariki, being a distance of 13 miles 40 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 106836, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured blue.
