N.Z. TEMPORARY STAFF.

Lieutenant F. J. Eggleton, Reserve of Officers, The Taranaki Regimenr, relinquishes his appointment in the N.Z. Temporary Staff. Dated 31st March, 1940.
Charles Edward Dunn (late 2nd Lieutenant, N.Z. Garrison Artillery), to be Lieutenant, and is appointed Instructor, M.T. Wing, Army School of Instruction, Trentham. Dated 12th April, 1940.
2nd Lieutenant (on probation) K. Christie, B.E. (Civil Elect.), 3rd Field Company, Corps of N.Z. Engineers, to be Lieutenant, and is appointed Assistant Staff Officer, Fortifications and Works, Army Headquarters, Wellington. Dated 4th May, 1940.

COMMANDS.

The notice published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 32, dated 11th April, 1940, relative to Major (temporary Lieutenant-Colonel) W. McK. Geddes, M.C., Regiment of N.Z. Artillery, is hereby cancelled and the following substituted :—

" Major (temporary) Lieutenant-Colonel W. McK. Geddes, M.C., Regiment of N.Z. Artillery, relinquishes command of the lst Heavy Artillery Group, and is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), Area 1, with the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel. Dated 13th November, 1939."
Major M. Osborne, The Canterbury Regiment, is appointed to command the lst Battalion, and is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel. Dated 18th April, 1940.

THE OTAGO MOUNTED RIFLES.

2nd Lieutenant H. H. Brook to be Lieutenant. Dated 3rd May, 1940.

THE NORTH AUCKLAND MOUNTED RIFLES.

The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) F. H. Stewart, B.Sc., A.M.(N.Z.)I.E., A.M.I.C.E. (Lond.), 2nd Field Company, is confirmed.

2nd Lieutenant F. H. Stewart, B.Sc., A.M.(N.Z.)I.E., A.M.I.C.E. (Lond.), 2nd Field Company, is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant. Dated 1st April, 1940.

THE NELSON, MARLBOROUGH, AND WEST COAST REGIMENT.

Lieutenant R. Catley, 1st Battalion, to be Captain. Dated 2nd February, 1940.

RESERVE OF OFFICERS.

Lieutenant E. L. Quarrie is transferred from The Waikato Regiment, Class II (b), Area 4, to The Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly’s Own), Class II (b), Area 1. Dated 14th May, 1940.

Regiment of N.Z. Artillery.

Lieutenant H. McC. Taylor is posted to the Retired List with permission to retain his rank and wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 13th May, 1940.

Major J. W. Barry, N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Officer Commanding, Central Military District School of Instruction, Trentham, and is appointed Staff Officer, Training, Central Military District Mobilization Camp, Trentham. Dated 30th April, 1940.
Captain J. M. Reidy, N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Adjutant, Central Military District Mobilization Camp, Trentham, and is appointed Commandant, Central Military District School of Instruction, Trentham. Dated 30th April, 1940.
Captain R. B. Schulze, N.Z. Temporary Staff, relinquishes the appointment of General Staff Officer, 3rd Grade, Central Military District, Wellington, and is appointed Adjutant, Central Military District Mobilization Camp, Trentham. Dated 30th April, 1940.
Lieutenant D. Curtis, N.Z. Staff Corps, ceases to be seconded for duty with the 28th (Maori) Battalion, 2nd N.Z. Expeditionary Force, and is appointed Instructor, Central Military District School of Instruction, Trentham. Dated 30th April, 1940.
Lieutenant C. W. Crutch, N.Z. Temporary Staff, relinquishes the appointment of Adjutant, 1st Battalion, The Taranaki Regiment. Dated 30th April, 1940.
Lieutenant W. G. Bassett, N.Z. Temporary Staff, relinquishes the appointment of Instructor, Central Military District School of Instruction, and is appointed Adjutant, Central Military District School of Instruction, Trentham. Dated 30th April, 1940.
Lieutenant A. Molineaux, N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Instructor, Central Military District School of Instruction, Trentham, and is posted to Headquarters, Central Military District, Wellington. Dated 18th April, 1940.
Lieutenant A. Molineaux, N.Z. Staff Corps, is appointed General Staff Officer, 3rd Grade, Central Military District, Wellington. Dated 24th April, 1940.

Major R. A. Hogan, Reserve of Officers, N.Z. Artillery, to be Major, and is appointed Assistant to the Director of Mobilization, Army Headquarters, Wellington. Dated 13th April, 1940.

Lieutenant-Colonel T. H. Dawson, C.M.G., C.B.E., V.D., Retired List, to be Lieutenant-Colonel, and is appointed Officer Commanding, National Military Reserve Guard, Auckland, with pay and allowances of a Captain. Dated ist November, 1939.

Captain H. P. Conyers-Brown to be Major. Dated 1st May, 1940.

The notice published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 14 of the 22nd February, 1940, relative to Lieutenant G. M. Dodgshun, B.D.S., Reserve of Officers, N.Z. Dental Corps, is hereby cancelled.

Joseph Terence Dodgshun, B.D.S. (N.Z.), to be Lieutenant, N.Z. Dental Corps, and is appointed Dental Officer, Papakura Military Camp. Dated 2nd December, 1939.

Lieutenant D. V. Thomas, Indian Army Reserve of Officers, to be Lieutenant, and is attached to Army Headquarters, Wellington. Dated 1st April, 1940.

Lieutenant D. V. Thomas to be Captain, and is appointed General Staff Officer, 3rd Grade, Army Headquarters, Wellington. Dated 1st May, 1940.
