Portions of Roads in the County of Taieri exempted from the
Provisions of Section 128 of the Public Works Act, 1928,
subject to a Condition as to the Building-line.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 22nd day of
May, 1940.
Present:
His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the
Public Works Act, 1928, and of all other powers in
anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the following
resolution passed by the Taieri County Council on the twenty-
fourth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and
thirty-nine (the portions and sides of roads affected by such
resolution being more particularly described in the Schedule
hereto), viz. :-
“The Taieri County Council, being the local authority
having control of the roads in the County of Taieri, by
resolution declares that the provisions of section one
hundred and twenty-eight of the Public Works Act,
1928, shall not apply to those portions of roads fronting
parts of Sections 1 and 2, Irregular Block, East Taieri
District”;
subject to the condition that no building or part of a building
shall at any time be erected on the land fronting the portions
of roads (described in the Schedule hereto) within a distance
of thirty-three feet from the centre-lines of the said portions
of roads.
SCHEDULE.
The north-western side of all that portion of road, situated
in the Otago Land District, County of Taieri, fronting parts
Sections 1 and 2, Irregular Block, East Taieri District.
Also the north-eastern side of all that portion of road,
situated in the said land district and county, fronting part
Section 1, Irregular Block, East Taieri District.
As the same are more particularly delineated on the plan
marked P.W.D. 106693, deposited in the office of the Minister
of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

1937, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting

doth hereby set part and reserve the Native freehold land

Hapu as a meeting-place.

of the Executive Council, doth hereby vary an order in
Council made on the fifteenth day of December, one thousand
nine hundred and thirty-two, and published in the Gazette
on the twenty-second day of December, one thousand nine
hundred and thirty-two, at page 2782, and affecting Ruatoki
No. IA No. 1 Block and other blocks, by excluding therefrom
the land described in the Schedule hereto.

Practitioners Amendment Act, 1924, I, George Vere Arundell,
Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New
Zealand, do hereby reappoint
Sir Donald Johnstone McGavin, Kt.Bach., C.M.G., D.S.O.,
M.D., F.R.C.S.,
to be a member of the Medical Council under the aforesaid
Act.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General, this 11th day of May, 1940.

Redefining the Boundaries of Otago and Lakes District
Acclimatization Districts.
GALWAY, Governor-General.
Pursuant to the powers vested in me by the Animals
Protection and Game Act, 1921-22, I, George Vere
Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion
of New Zealand, do hereby redefine the boundaries of the
Lakes District Acclimatization District as described in
New Zealand Gazette No. 62 of the ninth day of August, one
thousand nine hundred and thirty-four, at page 2451, and
of the Otago Acclimatization District as described in New
Zealand Gazette No. 17 of the twelfth day of March, one
thousand nine hundred and twenty-five, at page 751, so
that as on and from the second day of September, one
thousand nine hundred and forty, the boundaries of the said
districts shall be those described under their respective
headings in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
LAKES DISTRICT ACCLIMATIZATION DISTRICT.
All that area in the Otago and Southland Land Districts
bounded by a line commencing at the mouth of the Awarua
River in Big Bay; thence by a right line to the summit of
Mount Aspiring; thence along the summit of the Southern
Alps to the north-eastern boundary of Run 97; thence
south-easterly along the north-eastern boundary of Run 97,
through Mount Kuri to the southern bank of the Wilkin
River; thence south-easterly along the southern bank
of the Wilkin River, and southerly along the western bank
of the Makarora River to a point due west of Trig. Station GG ;
thence due east by a right line through Trig. Station GG to
