Appointing a Member of the Lyttelton Harbour Board.
GALWAY, Governor-General.
WHEREAS it is provided by subsection two of section thirty-eight of the Harbours Act, 1923, that in the event of an extraordinary vacancy in the office of an elective member of a Harbour Board, other than a representative of a constituent district, the Governor-General may, by Warrant under his hand, appoint some qualified person in his place:
And whereas Frank Leslie Parnham, an elective member of the Lyttelton Harbour Board, being a representative of the combined district of the Counties of Rangiora, Eyre, and Oxford, and the Boroughs of Kaiapoi and Rangiora, is deceased, and an extraordinary vacancy in the membership of the Board has thereby been created, and it is desirable to appoint a qualified person in his place:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the hereinbefore-recited power and authority, doth hereby appoint Charles Morgan Williams to be a member of the Lyttelton Harbour Board as a representative of the combined district aforesaid, in the place of the said Frank Leslie Parnham, deceased.

Revoking the Setting-apart of Crown Land under Section 161 of the Land Act, 1924.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section five of the Land Act, 1924, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby revoke the Warrant dated the fourth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, and published in Gazette No. 78 of the tenth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, page 3476, setting apart the land described in the Schedule hereto, for disposal under section one hundred and sixty-one of the Land Act, 1924.

All that area in the Otago and Southland Land Districts bounded by a line commencing at Brodrick Pass and proceeding southerly along the summit of the range, passing through Mount Huxley, Lindis Pass, to Mount St. Bathan's; along a right line due east to and along the summit of the Hawkdun Range, through Mount Domet and along the summit of the Kakanui Range to the source of the Waianakarua River; down that river to the eastern boundary of Section 27, Block III, Waihemo Survey District; south-westerly along that boundary to a public road, south-easterly along that road to the eastern boundary of Section 4, Block XIV, Moeraki Survey District; along that boundary, along the northern and eastern boundaries of Block XII, Moeraki Survey District, to the northern boundary of Section 31; easterly along that boundary to the north-eastern corner of said Section 31; thence along a public road to the southern boundary of Section 43, Block IX, Moeraki Survey District; along the southern boundaries of Sections 43, 44, and 45, all in Block IX, and along the western boundary of Section 1 of 20, Block III, Moeraki Survey District, to the sea; thence by the sea to the mouth of the Mataura River; thence up the Mataura River to the north-western boundary of Section 4, Block III, Nokomai Survey District; thence north-easterly along that boundary and the north-western boundary of Section 3, Block III aforesaid, to a public road; across that road, and northerly along same to the northern boundary of Section 2, Block III, Nokomai Survey District; thence north-easterly along the summit of the Hector Mountains, passing through Lorn Peak, James Peak, and Ben Nevis, to Ben Cruachan; thence easterly through Mount Edward to Mount Rosa; thence by a right line to the con-fluence of the Nevis and Kawarau Rivers; thence down the Kawarau River to its junction with the Roaring Meg Stream; thence up the Roaring Meg Stream to its source on Mount Pisa; thence by a right line to the summit of Mount Pisa; thence northerly along a right line to the south-eastern corner of Block I, Lower Wanaka Survey District; thence northerly along the eastern boundary of the said Block I, to the north-eastern corner of the said Block I; thence due west along the northern boundary of Block I aforesaid, to the Cardrona River; thence down the south-eastern bank of the Cardrona River to its confluence with the Clutha River; thence to and up the south-western bank of the Clutha River to a point due east of Trig.
