Altering and Redefining the Boundaries of the Marlborough Coast Rabbit District.—(Notice No. Ag. 3746.)

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 29th day of May, 1940.
Present :
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section thirty-one of the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928, it is enacted that the Governor-General, at the request of the Board of any Rabbit District, may by Order in Council alter and redefine the boundaries of its district :
And whereas the district known as the Marlborough Coast Rabbit District has been constituted under and for the purposes of the said Act :
And whereas the Board of the said district has, pursuant to the said section thirty-one of the said Act, requested that the boundaries of its district be altered and redefined by including an additional area therein :
And whereas the consent of a majority of the persons in such additional area qualified to be enrolled on the rate-payers list for the said district has been given to the inclusion of such additional area in the said district :
And whereas it is deemed expedient to alter and redefine the boundaries of the said district accordingly :
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the said Act, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby—
(1) Alter and redefine the boundaries of the said district so constituted as aforesaid ;
(2) Declare that the boundaries of the said district shall be those set forth in the Schedule hereto ; and, further,
(3) Declare that this Order in Council shall come into force on the day following publication hereof in the Gazette.
SCHEDULE.
BOUNDARIES OF THE MARLBOROUGH COAST RABBIT DISTRICT.
All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Marl-borough containing approximately 146,252 acres, and bounded as follows : Commencing at the mouth of the Clarence River in Block XI, Puhipuhi Survey District; thence in a westerly, north-easterly, north-westerly, and south-westerly direction by the centre of the Clarence River to the southern point of the Bluff Run; thence following the northern boundary of the Bluff Run, the northern boundary of the Glencoe Estate, the northern boundary of the Small Grazing Run 187, and the northern boundary of Section 1, Block IX, Whernside Survey District, to the south-western corner of Small Grazing Run 183A; thence in a northerly direction along the western boundary of Small Grazing Run 183A to Section 281, Block XVI, Cape Campbell Survey District; thence along the southern and western boundaries of the said Section 281 to the Ure River; thence in an easterly direction by the Ure River to a point due south of the westernmost corner of Section 1, Block X, Cape Campbell Survey District; thence due north to that corner; thence in an easterly direction by the northern boundary of last-mentioned section to Peg V on that boundary; thence in an easterly direction by a right line to the trig. station on Single Hill and its prolongation to the sea; thence in a south-westerly direction by the sea to the point of commencement.

Authorizing the Wairarapa Electric-power Board to Construct, Maintain, and Use certain Electric Lines.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 22nd day of May, 1940.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Public Works Act, 1928, and the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorize the Wairarapa Electric-power Board (hereinafter with its successors and assigns referred to as “the licensee”), subject to the conditions set forth in the First Schedule hereto, to lay, construct, put up, place, and use electric lines within the area described in the Second Schedule hereto; and, further, for the purposes of section seventy-six of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, subject to the said conditions, doth hereby authorize the Board to construct and maintain the said electrical works.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
- LICENSE SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS.
In respect of the lines hereby authorized, the licensee shall comply with the Electrical Supply Regulations, 1935, the Electrical Wiring Regulations, 1935, and with any regulations made or to be made in amendment or amplification thereof or in substitution therefor. The conditions by clause 27–11 of the Electrical Supply Regulations, 1935, directed to be implied in all licenses shall be incorporated in and shall form part of this license except in so far as the same may be inconsistent with the provisions hereof: Provided that the licensee shall not by virtue of this clause be required, except in the normal course of alteration, repair, or maintenance, to reconstruct in conformity with the regulations hereinbefore mentioned, any electric lines or works which conform to the regulations in force at the time of construction thereof. - SYSTEM OF SUPPLY.
The whole of the electrical energy distributed by the licensee shall be received from the Minister of Public Works either in bulk, or from the licensee’s hydro-electric generating plant at Kourarau, or from both sources combined, and supply of such electrical energy shall be given to the licensee’s consumers on the systems of supply described in paragraphs (a) and (/) of Regulation 21–01 of the Electrical Supply Regulations, 1935. - DURATION OF LICENSE.
Unless sooner determined in accordance with the provisions hereinafter expressed, this license shall continue in force until the 17th day of November, 1964. Upon the expiry of the said term or upon the sooner determination of this license by revocation or otherwise all rights hereby granted to the licensee shall cease and determine, but such expiration or determination shall not relieve the licensee of any liability theretofore incurred under this license. - CHARGES FOR ELECTRICAL ENERGY.
The charges for electrical energy shall not exceed ls. per unit for lighting purposes and 6d. per unit for motor-power, heating, or cooking purposes: Provided that “lighting purposes” shall include the operation of motor-generators for lighting purposes; and, provided further, that if accounts are paid within fourteen days of due date the charges shall not exceed 9d. per unit for lighting purposes and 4½d. per unit for motor-power, heating, and cooking purposes. In the case of wholesale supply, the charge shall not exceed £12 per kilovolt - ampere per annum, plus ½d. per unit. “Wholesale supply” for this purpose shall be held to be a supply in respect of which the consumer shall guarantee to pay not less than £180 per annum. - TIME FOR COMPLETION OF WORKS.
The period for completion of the works hereby authorized shall be three years from the date of this license.

LINES adapted for the supply of electrical energy by the systems of supply hereinbefore described within the area added to the licensee’s district by the following Proclamations :—
