Additional Land at South Malvern taken for the
Purposes of the Whitecliffs Branch Railway.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS it has been found desirable for the
use, convenience, and enjoyment of the White-
cliffs Branch Railway to take further land at South
Malvern in addition to land previously acquired for the
purposes of the said railway:
Now, therefore, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount
Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New
Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred on me by sections thirty-four and two
hundred and sixteen of the Public Works Act, 1928,
and of every other power and authority in anywise
enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and
declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto
is hereby taken for the purposes above mentioned.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE areas of the pieces of land:—

1 0 30·7 Part Lot 1, D.P. 4430, of Rural
Section 14757.
0 0 1·9 Part of Rural Section 14757.
Situated in Block VII, Hororata Survey District,
Malvern County. (S.O. 7217.)
In the Canterbury Land District; as the same are
more particularly delineated on the plan marked L.O.
6119, deposited in the office of the Minister of
Railways at Wellington, and thereon coloured yellow
and violet.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and
issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 23rd
day of May, 1940.

Railway to take further land at Kaiwaka in addition to land
previously acquired for the purposes of the said railway :
Now, therefore, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway,
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in
exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by
sections thirty-four and two hundred and sixteen of the
Public Works Act, 1928, and of every other power and
authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby
proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule
hereto is hereby taken for the purposes above mentioned.

venience, and enjoyment of the Waitaki-Bluff
Railway to take further land at Bushey in addition to land
previously acquired for the purposes of the said railway :
Now, therefore, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway,
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in
exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by
sections thirty-four and two hundred and sixteen of the
Public Works Act, 1928, and of every other power and
authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby
proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule
hereto is hereby taken for the purposes above mentioned.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land : 23·3 perches.
Being part Section 2 of 5 and part Section 6, Block III,
Moeraki Survey District, Waihemo County. (S.O. 2308.)
In the Otago Land District; as the same is more partic-
ularly delineated on the plan marked L.O. 6125, deposited in
the office of the Minister of Railways at Wellington, and
thereon coloured yellow.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued
under the Seal of that Dominion, this 22nd day of
May, 1940.

Change of Name of Locality " Pembroke" to " Wanaka."

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS settlers in the locality known as " Pembroke,"
in the County of Lake, desire that the name of such
locality should be changed to " Wanaka," and it is considered
expedient to alter the same:
Now, therefore, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway,
the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in
pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred
on me by the Designation of Districts Act, 1908, and of all
other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf,
do hereby proclaim and declare that the name of the locality
known as " Pembroke," in the County of Lake, shall be and
the same is hereby altered to " Wanaka," and do assign the
last-mentioned name to such locality accordingly; and also
do hereby proclaim and declare that this Proclamation shall
take effect on the first day of September, one thousand nine
hundred and forty, not being earlier than six months after
the first publication thereof in the Gazette.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued
under the Seal of that Dominion, this 28th day of
February, 1940.

Allocating Railway Land to the Purposes of a Road in Block I,
Clive Survey District.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of
every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in
this behalf, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway,
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby
proclaim and declare that the land which is described in the
Schedule hereto (and which was acquired for the Wellington-
Napier Railway and is not now required for such purpose),
shall, upon the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette,
become a road, and that such road shall be maintained by
the Main Highways Board in like manner as other public
highways are controlled and maintained by the said Board.
