Land taken for a Gravel-pit in Block XVI, Lyndon Survey District.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for a gravel-pit; and I do also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the twentieth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and forty.

SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land taken: 3 acres 14 perches.
Being part Lot 1, D.P. 4163, being part Section 44, Square 84.
Situated in Block XVI, Lyndon Survey District (Canterbury R.D.). (S.O. 7194.)
In the Canterbury Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 106752, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon edged red.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 14th day of May, 1940.

Declaring Land taken for a Government Work, and not required for that Purpose, to be Crown Land.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare the land described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land subject to the Land Act, 1924.

SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of piece of stopped Government road declared to be Crown land: 2 acres 3 roods.
Adjoining or passing through part Section 8, and railway land.
Situated in Block I, New River Hundred (Southland R.D.). (S.O. R 677.)
In the Southland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 95651, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured purple.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 14th day of May, 1940.

Constituting the King Country Electric-power District.
[L.S.] GALWAY, Governor-General.
A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS it is provided by section three of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, that any area or areas of land may be constituted an electric-power district or outer area of such district under the said Act, and in the manner therein provided :
And whereas a petition praying that the area described in the First Schedule hereto be constituted an electric-power district under the said Act was publicly notified and duly presented to the Governor-General in terms of the said Act:
And whereas, after due inquiry, the Governor-General is of opinion that the petition should be granted subject to the proposed boundaries of the district being altered as hereinafter appears:
Now, therefore, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred by section three of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby alter the proposed boundaries, and proclaim the district with the altered boundaries as described in the Second Schedule hereto to be an electric-power district, and I hereby assign to such district the name of the “King Country Electric-power District.”

FIRST SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Auckland, Wellington, and Taranaki Land Districts, comprising the Counties of Ohura, Kaitieke, and Taumarunui, and the Town Districts of Manunui and Ohura, bounded by a line commencing at a point where the boundaries of the Counties of Ohura, Taumarunui, and Waitomo meet; thence easterly by the boundary common to the Counties of Waitomo and Taumarunui (New Zealand Gazette 1930, page 783); thence southerly by the boundary common to the Counties of Taumarunui and Taupo; thence westerly by the boundaries common to the Counties of Waimarino and Kaitieke (New Zealand Gazette 1927, page 1959) and the Counties of Whangamomona and Ohura (New Zealand Gazette 1927, page 731); thence northerly by the boundary common to the Counties of Clifton and Ohura, and easterly by the boundary common to the Counties of Waitomo and Ohura, to the point of commencement, excluding therefrom the Borough of Taumarunui.

SECOND SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Auckland, Wellington, and Taranaki Land Districts, comprising the Counties of Ohura (New Zealand Gazette 1938, page 821), Kaitieke, and Taumarunui, and the Town Districts of Manunui and Ohura, but excluding therefrom the Borough of Taumarunui; the same being more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 106010, deposited in the Office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon bordered green.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 15th day of May, 1940.

Proclaiming Native Land to have become Crown Land.

A PROCLAMATION.
PURSUANT to section four hundred and fifty-four of the Native Land Act, 1931, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, being satisfied that the purchase of the Native land described in the Schedule hereto has been duly completed by or on behalf of the Crown, do hereby proclaim that the said land has become Crown land.
