FIRST SCHEDULE.
AREA INCLUDED IN THE MANGAPU DRAINAGE DISTRICT.
All that area in the Auckland Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point being the northernmost corner of Hanturu East 1e 5c 2a 2 Block and proceeding in a north-easterly direction along a right line to the south-western corner of Section 1B, Block VII, Orahiiri Survey District; thence along the Waibohou Road and the Haurua Road to the northern boundary of Section 5A, Block VIII, Orahiiri Survey District; thence easterly along the northern boundary of Section 5A aforesaid to the north-eastern corner of that section; thence north-easterly along a right line to a point in the northern boundary of Section 2A, Block VIII aforesaid, and distant 25 chains, more or less, from the Waitomo Valley Road; thence easterly along the northern boundary of Section 2A aforesaid to the western boundary of Orahiiri Z No. 18 Block; thence northerly generally along that boundary, crossing a road, to the Waipa River; thence south-easterly generally along the left bank of said Waipa River to the eastern boundary of Orahiiri Z No. 2 Block; thence south-westerly along that boundary, across the Te Kuiti Road, and along the western side of said Te Kuiti Road and the south-east boundary of Pukeroa-Hangatiki 5B 2 Block; thence north-westerly and south-westerly along north-eastern and north-western boundaries respectively of Section 8A, Block VIII, Orahiiri Survey District, and along a right line being the production of the last-mentioned boundary across the Haurua Road; thence southerly generally along the western side of said Haurua Road to the south-eastern boundary of Section 20, Block VII aforesaid; thence south-westerly along that boundary to the southernmost corner of said Section 20; thence along a right line to the north-west corner of Hanturu 2 No. 3B Block; thence along the north-western boundary of Hanturu 2 No. 3N Block and westerly along the southern boundary of Section I, Block XI, Orahiiri Survey District, to the point of commencement.
SECOND SCHEDULE.

All that area in the Auckland Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point on the left bank of the Waipa River, being the northernmost corner of Orahiiri Z No. 1B Block; thence up the left bank of the Waipa River to the westernmost side of Main Highway No. 1; thence southerly along the western side of that highway to a point in line with the northern boundary of Mangarapa 4 No. 2B Block; thence easterly across the said highway to the eastern boundary of the Pukeroa-Hangatiki Block; thence southerly along the eastern boundaries of Pukeroa-Hangatiki Blocks 4D 2, 4C 3C, 4C 3A, 4C 1, and No. 3 to the south-eastern corner of the last-mentioned block; thence westerly along the southern boundary of the said Pukeroa-Hangatiki No. 3 to its south-western corner; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern boundaries of Te Kumi No. 5 Block to the north-western boundary of the Borough of Te Kuiti; thence south-westerly along the north-western boundary of the Borough of Te Kuiti to the southernmost corner of Te Kumi No. 3 Block; thence southerly along the western boundaries of Tupuiwahine Nos. 1A and 1C Blocks to a point called Whare-kaka; thence along the south-eastern boundary of Tapu-wahine No. 1C Block and its production to the Mangatea Stream; thence along the Mangatea Stream to the western boundary of the Pukenui Block; thence along the western boundaries of the Pukenui 2T, 2W, and 2E No. 1 Blocks, to the westernmost corner of the last-mentioned block; thence along the south-western and south-eastern boundaries of the said 2E No. 1 Block to its easternmost corner; thence south-easterly along the south-eastern boundary of Pukenui 2W Block to the northernmost corner of Pukenui 2V 1 Block; thence along the north-western and south-western boundaries of Pukenui 2V 1 Block to its southernmost corner; thence along the northern side of the Te Kuiti-Pio Pio Road to the north-eastern boundary of a section of Crown land; thence along the north-eastern and south-eastern boundaries of the said Crown land, and the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of Pukenui No. 16 Block to the Te Kuiti-Pio Pio Road; thence across that road and southerly along its western side to a point in line with the southern boundary of Maraeatua No. 9A Block; thence to and along that boundary and along the eastern, southern, and western boundaries of Maraeatua No. 2N 4 Block, and the western boundary of Maraeatua 2B 2 Block, to the southern boundary of Section 15, Block VI, Otanake Survey District; thence along the southern boundary of the said Section 15, to Troopers Road; thence generally northerly along the eastern side of Troopers Road, Arapae Road, and Fullerton Road to the Hangatiki-Waitomo Road; thence along the southern side of the Hangatiki-Waitomo Road to a point in line with the southern boundary
of Hanturu East 2 No. 3B Block; thence to and along the southern boundary of that block and the northern boundary of Hanturu East 1e 5c 2A 2 Block to the northernmost corner of the last-mentioned block; thence north-westerly along a right line to the south-eastern corner of Hanturu East B 2 No. 2A 1B Block; thence along the eastern boundary of that block to the Waihohonu Road; thence along the Waihohonu Road and Haurua Road to the northern boundary of Section 5A, Block VIII, Orahiiri Survey District; thence easterly along the northern boundary of that section to its north-eastern corner; thence north-easterly along a right line to a point on the northern boundary of Section 2A, Block VIII, distant 2500 links, more or less, from the Waitomo Valley Road; thence easterly along the northern boundary of Section 2A aforesaid to the western boundary of Orahiiri Z No. 4A Block; thence northerly generally along the western boundary of that block and the western boundary of Orahiiri Z No. 1B, crossing a public road to the left bank of the Waipa River, the point of commencement.

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby grant to Edward Johnson Orry Hope, John Roland Skimmerdale Hope, Edgar Selwyn Hope, and Harold Barker Shepherd Hope, trading in partnership under the firm name of Hope Bros., of French Pass, Sheep-farmers (hereinafter referred to as “the licensees”), a license subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth to take and use from an unnamed stream situated in Lot 1 of 3B 4C, Block XIV, D’Urville Survey District, for the purposes hereinafter set forth a stream of water not exceeding one-fifth of a cubic foot per second at any one time.
CONDITIONS.
- IMPLIED CONDITIONS.
The conditions directed to be implied in all licenses by the Water-power Regulations, 1934, the Electrical Wiring Regulations, 1935, and the Electrical Supply Regulations, 1935, shall be incorporated in and shall form part of this license except in so far as the same may be inconsistent with the provisions hereof.
- LICENSE SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS.
This license is issued under the Water-power Regulations, 1934, and is subject thereto and to any regulations made or to be made in amplification or amendment thereof or in substitution therefor.
- UTILIZATION OF WATER AND LOCATION OF HEADWORKS.
Water shall be used under this license solely for the purpose of generating electricity up to a maximum capacity of 0·75 kilowatts at 32 volts direct current, and shall be taken from an unnamed stream at the point indicated on the plan marked P.W.D. 106175, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.
- GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORKS.
The licensees are hereby authorized, subject to the conditions hereof, to construct, maintain, and use the following works for the purposes of this license, the positions of the said works being indicated on the said plan P.W.D. 106175:—
(a) Headworks consisting of a dam, intake, and pipe-line, leading to the water-wheel and power-house hereinafter referred to, giving a static head of approximately 150 ft.
(b) A power-house situated on Section 3B 4D, Block XIV, D’Urville Survey District, with all necessary equipment for generating electricity.
