HASTINGS BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

NOTICE is hereby given that at a meeting of the
Hastings Borough Council held on the 14th
March, 1940, the following resolution was passed:—

"That in pursuance and exercise of the powers
vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies'
Loans Act, 1926, the Hastings Borough Council
hereby resolves as follows:—

"That, for the purpose of providing the interest
and other charges on a loan of £22,900, authorized
to be raised by the Hastings Borough Council
under the above-mentioned Act, for duplicating
the water-main from the power-station in East-
bourne Street to the reservoirs at Havelock North,
including the purchase of water-mains, valves,
fittings, &c., electric motors, and alterations to
existing motors, sinking artesian wells, and
connecting to pumping-sumps, and all other
materials and fittings necessary for the proper
completion of the work, and the payment of all
labour incidental thereto, the said Hastings
Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special
rate of decimal twenty-eight of one penny (.28d.)
in the pound, upon the rateable value of all rate-
able property of the Borough of Hastings, com-
prising the whole of the Borough; and that such
special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate
during the currency of such loan, and be payable
yearly on the first day of August in each and
every year during the currency of such loan, being
a period of twenty-five (25) years, or until the
loan is fully paid off."

Act, 1926, the Hastings Borough Council hereby
resolves as follows:—

"That, for the purpose of providing the interest
and other charges on a loan of £19,800, authorized
to be raised by the Hastings Borough Council
under the above-mentioned Act, for improvements
to the stormwater-drainage system in the Borough,
extension of water-mains in certain areas of the
Borough, extension of the sewer-mains in certain
areas of the Borough, and construction of concrete
footpaths in certain areas of the Borough, includ-
ing the purchase of all necessary pipes, machinery,
fittings, and materials, and the payment of labour,
in accordance with specifications prepared by the
Borough Engineer and deposited in the offices of
the Council, the said Hastings Borough Council
hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal
twenty-five of one penny (.25d.) in the pound,
upon the rateable value of all rateable property
of the Borough of Hastings, comprising the whole
of the Borough; and that such special rate shall
be an annual-recurring rate during the currency
of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st
day of August in each and every year during the
currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-
five (25) years, or until the loan is fully paid off."

AUCKLAND HOSPITAL BOARD.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR HOSPITAL
PURPOSES.

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the Auckland
Hospital Board proposes, under the provisions
of the Public Works Act, 1928, and the Hospital
and Charitable Institutions Act, 1926, to execute a
certain public work—viz., the acquisition of land as
part of the site for, and for the use, convenience, or
enjoyment of or otherwise for the purposes of the
Auckland Hospital within the Auckland Hospital
District—and for the purpose of such public work
the piece of land described in the Schedule hereto is
required to be taken: And notice is hereby further
given that a plan of the land so required to be
taken is deposited in the public office of the Auckland
Hospital Board, Kitchener Street, Auckland, and is
open for public inspection there (without fee) during
office hours. All persons affected by the execution of
the said public work or by the taking of such land, who
have any well-grounded objections to the execution of
the said public work or the taking of the said land,
must state their objections in writing and send the
same within forty days from the 21st day of March,
1940, being the date of the first publication of this
notice, to the Secretary, Auckland Hospital Board,
Kitchener Street, Auckland.

SCHEDULE.

All that piece of land containing 17.19 perches, more
or less, being part of Allotment 17 of Section 18 of
the Suburbs of Auckland, being the land comprised
and described in certificate of title, Vol. 575, folio 193,
Auckland Registry, and known at No. 4 Park Road,
Auckland.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the partnership
heretofore subsisting between the undersigned
PETER DUNCAN PATTON and JOHN ANDERSON HANNAH,
carrying on business as Electrical Engineers under the
name of “Patton and Hannah,” has this day been
dissolved by mutual consent. The said PETER DUNCAN
PATTON will continue to carry on the business of
Electrical Engineer at the same address, 69 Tay
Street, Invercargill, and will discharge all existing
contracts and liabilities of the firm. He will also
receive all moneys due to the firm which should be paid
at the above address.

BOROUGH OF NEWMARKET.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and
amendments thereto, the Newmarket Borough Council
hereby resolves as follows:—

"That, for the purpose of providing interest
and other charges on a loan of £14,500, authorized
to be raised by the Newmarket Borough Council
under the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans
Act, 1926, and section 13 of the Physical Welfare
and Recreation Act, 1937, for the purpose of
completing the construction of the Olympic Swim-
ming Pool, including the provision of a special
pool for the children, the installation of a sound-
system, and the construction of a roof over the
stand portion of the building, the Newmarket
Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special
rate of twopence three-farthings in the pound on
the annual rateable value of all the rateable
property in the Borough of Newmarket; and that
such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate
during the currency of such loan, and shall be
payable on the first day of July in each and every
year during the currency of the loan, being a
period of twenty (20) years or until the loan is
fully paid off.”
