MEDICAL REGISTRATION.
I, JOHN THOMAS SHEARER, M.B., Ch.B., N.Z., 1939,
now residing in Hamilton, hereby give notice that I
intend applying on the 19th April next to have my name
placed on the Medical Register of the Dominion of New
Zealand; and that I have deposited the evidence of my
qualification in the office of the Department of Health at
Hamilton.

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.
NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary
general meeting of the shareholders of the Bruce
Publishing Company, Limited, held on the 19th day of
March, 1940, a special resolution was passed that the
company be wound up voluntarily and that JOHN
JAMES LANE, of Milton, Accountant, be and he is
hereby appointed liquidator of the company.

TIMARU BOROUGH COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in
it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act,
1926, the Timaru Borough Council hereby resolves as
follows:-
"That, for the purpose of providing the interest
and other charges on a loan of Β£1,500, authorized
to be raised by the Timaru Borough Council under
the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of com-
pleting the work for which the Timaru Borough
Airport Loan, 1936, was raised, the said Timaru
Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special
rate of .055d. in the pound upon the rateable
value of all rateable property of the Borough of
Timaru, comprising the whole of the Borough; and
that such special rate shall be annual-recurring
rate during the currency of such loan and shall be
payable yearly on the 1st day of August in
each and every year during the currency of such
loan, being a period of nine years, or until the
loan is fully paid off."

WHAKATANE COUNTY COUNCIL.
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND,
NOTICE is hereby given that the Whakatane County
Council proposes under the provisions of the Public
Works Act, 1928, to execute certain public works-namely,
the construction of roads-and for the purposes of such
public works the lands described in the Schedule hereto are
required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given
that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited
in the public office of the said Whakatane County Council
situated at The Strand, Whakatane, and is open for inspection
(without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by the execution of the said public
works or by the taking of such lands, who have any well-
grounded objections to the execution of the said public works
or to the taking of the said lands, must state their objections
in writing, and send the same within forty (40) days from the
first publication of this notice to the Clerk of the said Council
at the said office.
