Bremner, M.C., Reserve of Officers, New Zealand Staff Corps, is transferred to the Active List and is appointed Commandant, Northern Military District School of Instruction, Narrow Neck, vice Major G. H. Clifton, M.C., New Zealand Staff Corps, seconded for duty with the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force. Dated 19th January, 1940.

Captain R. S. Halliwell, M.C., late New Zealand Staff Corps, is reappointed to the Active List and is appointed Deputy Assistant Adjutant-General, Northern Military District, Auckland. Dated 24th January, 1940.

Captain W. J. Smeeton, New Zealand Staff Corps, is appointed Area Staff Officer (temporary), No. 1 Area, Auckland, in addition to his present appointments. Dated 24th January, 1940.

Captain H. Conyers-Brown, New Zealand Temporary Staff, relinquishes the appointment of Assistant Area Officer, No. 3 Area, is appointed Area Officer No. 3 Area, Whangarei, and retains the appointment of Adjutant, The North Auckland Regiment. Dated 24th January, 1940.

Lieutenant W. C. T. Foley, New Zealand Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointments of Adjutant, 1st Battalion, The Otago Regiment and Dunedin Company, New Zealand Scottish Regiment, Dunedin, on being seconded for duty with the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force. Dated 6th February, 1940.

Second Lieutenant G. Holderness, New Zealand Temporary Staff, is appointed Adjutant, Central District Signal Company, in addition to his present appointments. Dated 4th January, 1940.

Major W. R. Burge, M.C., New Zealand Staff Corps, is appointed Director of Ordnance Services, vice Lieutenant-Colonel T. J. King, New Zealand Army Ordnance Corps, seconded to the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force, and is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel while so employed. Dated 6th January, 1940.

Major J. I. Brooke, New Zealand Staff Corps, was appointed Commandant, Army School of Instruction, Trentham, on the 13th February, 1939.

Major C. W. Salmon, D.C.M., New Zealand Temporary Staff, to be Lieutenant-Colonel, and is appointed Deputy Quartermaster-General, Army Headquarters, Wellington, vice Lieutenant-Colonel S. H. Crump, O.B.E., New Zealand Staff Corps, seconded for duty with the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force. Dated 6th January, 1940.

Major H. M. W. Richardson, D.S.O., M.C., Reserve of Officers, New Zealand Staff Corps, is transferred to the Active List and is appointed Chief Engineer, Army Headquarters, Wellington. Dated 12th February, 1940.

Captain A. H. L. Sugden, New Zealand Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Instructor, Army School of Instruction, Trentham, and is appointed Commandant, Army School of Instruction, Trentham, vice Major J. I. Brooke, New Zealand Staff Corps, seconded for duty with the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force. Dated 24th February, 1940.

Captain S. H. Gould, New Zealand Temporary Staff, relinquishes the appointment of Assistant Area Officer, No. 6 Area, and is appointed Area Staff Officer, No. 6 Area, Wanganui. Dated 27th October, 1939.

Captain C. J. Williams, New Zealand Temporary Staff, relinquishes the appointment of Assistant Area Officer, No. 7 Area, and is appointed Area Staff Officer, No. 7 Area, Napier. Dated 6th November, 1939.

Lieutenant C. W. Crutch, New Zealand Temporary Staff, is appointed Adjutant, 1st Battalion, The Taranaki Regiment, in addition to his present appointment. Dated 28th January, 1940.

Lieutenant F. N. Armstrong, New Zealand Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Instructor, Southern Military District School of Instruction, Burnham, dated 1st February, 1940, and is appointed Adjutant, 1st Battalion, The Otago Regiment and Dunedin Company, New Zealand Scottish Regiment, Dunedin, dated 6th February, 1940.

McKillop, M.B., Ch.B., New Zealand Medical Corps, relinquishes the appointments of Assistant Director of Medical Services and Officer Commanding, New Zealand Medical Corps, Southern Military District, on being seconded for duty with the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force. Dated 6th February, 1940.

Colonel Sir Hugh T. D. Acland, Kt., C.M.G., C.B.E., F.R.C.S., L.R.C.P., New Zealand Medical Corps, is appointed Assistant Director of Medical Services and Officer Commanding, New Zealand Medical Corps, Southern Military District. Dated 6th February, 1940.

Major M. B. M. Tweed, M.R.C.S., England, L.R.C.P., London, New Zealand Medical Corps, ceases to be attached to the 5th Field Battery, New Zealand Artillery, is appointed Assistant Director of Medical Services and Officer Commanding, New Zealand Medical Corps, Central Military District, vice Lieutenant-Colonel W. H. B. Bull, M.B., Ch.B., New Zealand Medical Corps, seconded for duty with the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force, and is granted the acting rank of Lieutenant-Colonel. Dated 7th February, 1940.

Second Lieutenant Gerald Morpeth (Retired List) to be Lieutenant, and is appointed Adjutant, Northern Military District School of Instruction, Narrow Neck. Dated 31st January, 1940.

Second Lieutenant Harold Wallis Shackleford (late N.Z.E.F.), to be Lieutenant, and is appointed Area Quartermaster, No. 1 Area, Auckland. Dated 23rd December, 1939.

Second Lieutenant Alexander D. Sinclair (late Royal Air Force) to be Lieutenant, and is appointed Assistant Adjutant and Administrative Company Commander, Mobilization Camp, Papakura. Dated 1st February, 1940.

Second Lieutenant Henry Edgar Goldsbro to be Lieutenant, and is appointed District Engineer Works Officer, Northern Military District, Auckland, vice Captain L. A. Lincoln, New Zealand Temporary Staff, seconded to the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force. Dated 23rd January, 1940.

Michael Norman Wallace (late Imperial Army), to be Captain, and is attached to Headquarters, Northern Military District, Auckland. Dated 2nd January, 1940.

Captain M. N. Wallace ceases to be attached to Headquarters, Northern Military District, Auckland, and is appointed Adjutant, Mobilization Camp, Ngaruawahia. Dated 6th January, 1940.

Geoffrey Paul Leane, M.C. (late Australian Imperial Force), to be Lieutenant, and is appointed Assistant Area Officer, No. 1 Area, Auckland. Dated 1st February, 1940.

Sidney August McNamara (late The Waikato Regiment) to be Lieutenant, and is appointed Assistant Area Officer, No. 4 Area, and Adjutant, 1st Battalion, The Waikato Regiment, Hamilton. Dated 29th January, 1940.

Leslie William Lake (late Imperial Army) to be Captain, and is appointed Assistant Area Officer, No. 2 Area, Paeroa. Dated 10th January, 1940.

Captain J. L. Muir, M.C. (Reserve of Officers, Class II, Royal Ulster Rifles), to be Captain, and is appointed Instructor, Northern Military District School of Instruction, Narrow Neck. Dated 1st February, 1940.

Lieutenant C. G. Stewart, M.C., Reserve of Officers, Supplementary List, to be Lieutenant, and is appointed Assistant Area Officer, No. 3 Area, and Adjutant, 1st Battalion, North Auckland Regiment, Whangarei. Dated 1st February, 1940.

Lieutenant G. H. Gilbert, B.D.S., Reserve of Officers, New Zealand Dental Corps, to be Lieutenant, and is appointed Dental Officer, Burnham Military Camp. Dated 22nd January, 1940.

Lieutenant C. R. Cameron relinquishes the appointments of District Transport Officer, Northern Military District, and Adjutant, 1st Composite Company, New Zealand Army Service Corps, on being seconded for duty with the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force. Dated 11th February, 1940.
