Crown Land set apart as a Permanent State Forest.

A PROCLAMATION.

BY virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section eighteen of the Forests Act, 1921-22, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby set apart the Crown land described in the Schedule hereto as a permanent State forest.

SCHEDULE.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.—CANTERBURY FOREST-CONSERVATION REGION.

All that area in the Canterbury Land District, Oxford County, containing 120 acres 1 rood 24 perches, more or less, being Reserve 3957, situated in Block I, Oxford Survey District, and bounded as follows: Towards the north by Reserve 3547, 3200-9 links; towards the east by Rural Sections 36768 and 36769, 2756-6 links; towards the south-east by Rural Section 26237, 4002-4 links; and towards the west generally by Section 21, Oxford Bush Settlement, the Eyre River, and a public road, save and except a public road one chain wide intersecting the above-described land, due allowance for which has been made in the area. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan No. 143/19, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 15th day of February, 1940.

BY virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section eighteen of the Forests Act, 1921-22, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby set apart the Crown lands described in the Schedule hereto as a provisional State forest.

SCHEDULE.

NELSON LAND DISTRICT.—NELSON FOREST-CONSERVATION REGION.

All those areas in the Nelson Land District, Inangahua County, containing 697 acres 0 roods 2 perches, more or less, and described as follows:—

All that area containing 36 acres 0 roods 16 perches, more or less, and being Section 15, Block XIII, Reefton Survey District.

Also all that area containing 275 acres 3 roods 26 perches, more or less, and being Sections 7 and 8, Blocks XIV, Reefton Survey District.

Also all that area in Block XIV, Reefton Survey District, containing 385 acres, more or less, and bounded generally as follows: Towards the north by Section 196, Block XIV aforesaid; towards the east by a road along the western bank of the Inangahua River and by the western bank of the Inangahua River; towards the south by a provisional State forest (75,130 acres—Gazette 1920, page 926); and towards the west by Section 10, Block XIV aforesaid (Water-conservation Reserve—Gazette 1907, page 998).

As the same are more particularly delineated on plan No. 113/16, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

SCHEDULE.

NELSON LAND DISTRICT.—NELSON FOREST-CONSERVATION REGION.

All those areas in the Nelson Land District, Murchison County, containing approximately 77,758 acres 0 roods 14 perches, being ordinary provisional State forest 39,582 acres 2 roods 27 perches, national-endowment provisional State forest 12,075 acres, and Crown land 26,120 acres 1 rood 27 perches, and described as follows:—

All that area of Crown land containing 194 acres 3 roods 17 perches, more or less, and being Section 8, Block I, Tutaki Survey District.

Also all that area situated in Blocks VIII, XII, and XVI, Maruia Survey District, Blocks I, V, IX, and XIII, Tutaki Survey District, Blocks IV and VIII, Burnett Survey District, and Blocks I and V, Matakitaki Survey District, containing approximately 28,281 acres 2 roods 37 perches, more or less, being Provisional State Forest No. 80 (1,028 acres 0 roods 27 perches—Gazette 1920, page 932—ordinary provisional State forest), Provisional State Forest No. 81 (987 acres 2 roods—Gazette 1920, page 932—ordinary provisional State forest), part of Provisional State Forest No. 82 (8,119 acres—Gazette 1920, pages 932 and 933—ordinary provisional State forest), Provisional State Forest No. 120 (2,141 acres—Gazette 1920, page 2113—national-endowment provisional State forest), Provisional State Forest No. 122 (3,436 acres—Gazette 1920, pages 2113 and 2114—national-endowment provisional State forest), and Crown land (2,880 acres 2 roods 36 perches, 3,853 acres, 2,664 acres, 2,600 acres, and 142 acres 1 rood 14 perches), and bounded generally as follows: Towards the north generally by Section 9, Block I, Tutaki Survey District (being State Forest No. 6—Gazette 1910, page 3281); towards the east generally by Sections 42 and 45, Block I aforesaid, by a road along the western bank of the Matakitaki River, to and across a road and Johnson's Creek, by a road along the western bank of the Matakitaki River, to and across a road, Taylor's Creek and another road, again by a road along the western bank of the Matakitaki River, by Sections 26, 19, 11, and 10, Block IX, and by Sections 1 and 7, Block XIII, Tutaki Survey District aforesaid, by the abutment of a road, by the Matakitaki River, by the abutment of a road, by Section 6, Block XIII, Tutaki Survey District, and by Section 6, Block I, Matakitaki Survey District; towards the south-east and south generally by Section 9, Block I, Sections 14, 12, and 13, Block V, all in Matakitaki Survey District, and Section 11, Block VIII, Burnett Survey District; towards the west by Section 6, Block VIII, Sections 3, 2, and 1, Block IV, and Section 8, Block III, all in Burnett Survey District, to and along a road, across a road and Ruffe's Creek, again by Section 8 aforesaid, and by Sections 16, 19, and 5, Block XV, Maruia Survey District; towards the north by Section 6, Block XV aforesaid, and Section 1, Block XVI, Maruia Survey District; towards the west by Sections 1 and 2, Block XVI, Maruia Survey District; towards the north by Section 2 aforesaid; towards the east and north by Section 3, Block XVI aforesaid, to and across a road, Pea Soup Creek and another road; towards the west by a road along the eastern bank of Pea Soup Creek, to and across a road, and again by the road along the eastern bank of Pea Soup Creek, Sections 18 and 9, the abutment of a road, again by Section 9, Section 3, and by the north-western part of Section 8 (plan S.O. 8685), all in Block XIII, Maruia Survey District, by Hutchison's Creek, part of Section 12, by a road along the eastern bank of the Maruia River, by the western part of Section 8 (plan S.O. 9093), and Sections 2 and 10, Block VIII, and Section 8, Block IV, all in Maruia Survey District, excepting thereout all public roads.

Also all that area situated in Blocks II, VI, VII, IX, X, XI, XIII, XIV, XV, and XVI, Tutaki Survey District, and Blocks II, III, and IV, Matakitaki Survey District, containing 38,211 acres, more or less, being parts of Provisional State Forest No. 94 (19,548 acres and 4,770 acres—Gazette 1920, pages 932 and 933—ordinary provisional State forest), Provisional State Forest No. 121 (5,558 acres—Gazette 1920, page 2114, and Gazette 1922, page 1512—national-endowment
