Also all that area situated in Blocks VII, VIII, XI, and XII, Burnett Survey District, containing 6,669 acres, more or less, being part of Provisional State Forest No. 93 (2,312 acres—Gazette 1920, page 933—ordinary provisional State forest), and Crown land (4,219 acres and 138 acres), and bounded generally as follows: Towards the north and west by Section 19, Block III, Burnett Survey District; towards the east by Sections 5 and 4, Block IV, Sections 1, 7, and 8, Block VII, the eastern portions of Sections 10, 17, 19, and 20, Block XII (plan S.O. 8552), all in Burnett Survey District; towards the south by Section 4, Block XV, Burnett Survey District, and towards the west by a road along the eastern bank of the Maruia River; excepting thereout all public roads.

Also all that area situated in Block XII, Burnett Survey District, and Blocks V and IX, Matakitaki Survey District, containing 4,401 acres 2 roods, more or less, being part of Provisional State Forest No. 82 (2,898 acres—Gazette 1920, page 933—ordinary provisional State forest) and Crown land (517 acres, 361 acres, and 625 acres 2 roods), and bounded generally as follows: Towards the north by Section 3, Block V, Matakitaki Survey District; towards the east by May’s Creek, the abutment of a road, Section 4, Block V, Sections 14 and 13, Block IX, Matakitaki Survey District; towards the north by Section 13, Block IX aforesaid; towards the east by a road along the western bank of the Glenroy River; towards the south, east, and north by Section 1, Block IX, Matakitaki Survey District, to and across a road; towards the north by Section 2, Block IX aforesaid; towards the east by a road along the western bank of the Glenroy River; towards the south by Section 7, Block XIII, Matakitaki Survey District, to and across a road, and by a road forming part of the northern boundary of Section 7 aforesaid; towards the west by Section 6, Block XIII (being part of State Forest No. 89—Gazette 1938, page 1126) and Section 5, Block IX, both in Matakitaki Survey District; towards the south by Section 4, the abutment of a road, and Section 6 (being part of State Forest No. 89—Gazette 1938, page 1126), all in Block IX, Matakitaki Survey District, and Section 8, Block XII, Burnett Survey District; towards the west by Section 15

and the western part of Section 13 (plan S.O. 8714); towards the north by Section 14, Block VIII, Burnett Survey District, to and across a road and again by Section 14 aforesaid; and towards the west by Section 14, Block V, Burnett Survey District, and Sections 9, 8, and 14, Block V, Matakitaki Survey District; excepting thereout all public roads.

As the same are more particularly delineated on plan No. 114/6, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section twenty of the Forests Act, 1921–22, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting on the recommendation of the Minister of Lands, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto, being part of a provisional State forest set apart by Proclamation dated the thirteenth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-four, and gazetted on the twentieth day of that month, is required for settlement purposes; and, in accordance with the provisions of the said Act, such land shall, from and after the day of the gazetting hereof, cease to be provisional State forest, and shall become subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1924.

SCHEDULE.

SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.

ALL that area containing by admeasurement 2 roods 30 perches, more or less, being part of Section 5, Block XIV, Waiau Survey District, and bounded as follows: Towards the north-east and east by the Te Tua–Merrivale Road, 488·3 links and 81·9 links respectively; towards the south-east and south-west by other part of Section 5, Block XIV, Waiau Survey District, 260·4 links and 421·8 links respectively; be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 30/239A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 20th day of February, 1940.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 14th day of February, 1940.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

PURSUANT to section two hundred and forty-six of the Native Land Act, 1931, and all other powers him enabling, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby authorize the disposition to, and the acquisition by William Hugh Montgomery, of Little River, Sheepfarmer, of the lands described in the Schedule hereto, notwithstanding the provisions of Part XII of the said Act.
