Notice under the Enemy Trading Emergency Regulations 1939.-Declaration of an Enemy Trader.
I DANIEL GILES SULLIVAN, Minister of Industries and Commerce, being satisfied that the company mentioned in the Schedule hereto is carrying on business substantially for the benefit of alien enemies resident out of New Zealand, do hereby in pursuance of Regulation 3 of the Enemy Trading Emergency Regulations 1939, declare the said company to be an enemy trader for the purpose of the said regulations.

Warrant under the Enemy Property Emergency Regulations 1939, of the Appointment of the Public Trustee as the Controller of Enemy Business.
WHEREAS the company mentioned in the Schedule hereto and carrying on business in New Zealand has, in pursuance of Regulation 3 of the Enemy Trading Emergency Regulations 1939, been declared to be an enemy trader for the purposes of those regulations:
Now, therefore, I, Daniel Giles Sullivan, Minister of Industries and Commerce, in the exercise of the authority conferred upon me by Regulation 9 of the Enemy Property Emergency Regulations 1939, do hereby appoint the Public Trustee as the Controller of the business of the said company.

Notice respecting Proposed Alteration of Boundaries, City of Christchurch.
Department of Internal Affairs, Wellington, 10th December, 1940.
IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be excluded from the County of Heathcote and included in the City of Christchurch.
All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed alteration of boundaries which they desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
AREA PROPOSED TO BE EXCLUDED FROM THE COUNTY OF HEATHCOTE AND INCLUDED IN THE CITY OF CHRISTCHURCH.
All that area in the Canterbury Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point on the north-eastern corner of Lot 7, Deposited Plan 2607, being a point on the existing boundary of the City of Christchurch; thence proceeding generally southerly along the eastern boundaries of Lots 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, and part Lot 2, Deposited Plan 2607, and Lots 5 and 4, Deposited Plan 7837, to the north-eastern boundary of Lot 2, Deposited Plan 7837; thence south-easterly along that boundary and its production to a point on the south-eastern side of Wainoni Road; the said point being on the existing boundary of the City of Christchurch; thence south-westerly, northerly, and easterly along the said City boundary to the point of commencement.

Classification of Roads in Hutt County.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by the Transport Department Act, 1929, and the Heavy Motor-vehicle Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport does hereby revoke, in so far as it relates to the classification of the road described in the Schedule hereto, that Warrant dated the 7th day of June, 1932, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 40 of the 9th day of June, 1932, at page 1431, and does hereby revoke also in so far as it relates to the classification of the road described in the Schedule hereto that Warrant dated the 13th day of July, 1932 and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 48 of the 14th day of July, 1932, at page 1651, and does hereby alter the Hutt County Council's proposed classification of the road described in the Schedule hereto, and situated in the Hutt County, and does hereby approve such altered classification as set forth in the said Schedule.

Hutt County.
ROAD classified in Class Four: Available for the use thereon of any multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle or any trailer which with the load it is carrying has an axle weight of not more than 3Β½ tons on any one axle, or of any other heavy motor-vehicle which with the load it is carrying has an axle weight of not more than 4 tons on any one axle.
Paekakariki Hill Road, from its junction at Pahautanui with the Pahautanui-Plimmerton Main Highway No. 437 to its junction at Paekakariki with the Levin-Paekakariki Main Highway No. 13.

Exemption Order under the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940.
PURSUANT to the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby order and declare that the provisions of clause (1) of Regulation 7 of the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940, so far as they relate to drivers of motor-omnibuses shall not apply to Hubert Henry Foster, of Albury.

The Shops and Offices Act, 1921-22, and its Amendments.-Fixing the Closing-hours of Chemists' Shops within the Borough of Lyttelton.
WHEREAS a requisition in writing signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the chemists' shops within the Borough of Lyttelton has been forwarded to me desiring that all such shops within such borough be closed in the evening of working-days as follows: On Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 6 p.m., and on Fridays at 9 p.m., with the following exception: On the evening of any of the special days mentioned in section 26 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921-22, the hour of closing shall be 8.30 p.m.: And whereas, I, Patrick Charles Webb, Minister of Labour, am satisfied that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the said shops within the said borough:
Now, therefore, in pursuance of section 32 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921-22, I do hereby direct that on and after the 23rd day of December, 1940, all the chemists' shops within the Borough of Lyttelton shall be closed accordingly.
The notice gazetted on the 13th day of April, 1916, fixing the closing-hours of chemists' and druggists' shops in the Borough of Lyttelton shall be and is hereby cancelled as from the date of the coming into force of this notice.

NOTE.-Notwithstanding the above notice a chemist may (1) open his shop between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. on the statutory closing-day for the supply of medicines and surgical appliances that are urgently required, and (2) supply medicines and surgical appliances that are urgently required at other times provided that the shop is opened for such purpose only and is closed immediately the sale is effected, and that the door is kept locked, except for the entry and exit of the customer.
