Wing Commander James Lloyd Findlay, M.C., to be Group Captain (temporary). Dated 8th August, 1940.
Flying Officer Roy Borgia Morphy (T.A.F.), to be Acting Flight Lieutenant. Dated 17th October, 1940.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the grant of temporary rank to the undermentioned Officers of the New Zealand Military Forces:—
NEW ZEALAND MEDICAL CORPS.
Colonel F. T. Bowerbank, O.B.E., E.D., M.D., F.R.C.P. Edin., F.R.A.C.P., Director-General of Medical Services, Army Headquarters, is granted the temporary rank of Brigadier, while holding his present appointment. Dated 24th October, 1940.
Lieutenant-Colonel I. S. Wilson, M.C., E.D., M.D., F.R.C.S. Eng., F.R.A.C.P., Assistant Director of Medical Services, Army Headquarters, is granted the temporary rank of Colonel, while holding his present appointment. Dated 24th October, 1940.
NEW ZEALAND DENTAL CORPS.
Lieutenant-Colonel B. S. Finn, D.S.O., Director of Dental Services, Army Headquarters, is granted the temporary rank of Colonel, while holding his present appointment. Dated 24th October, 1940.

N.Z. STAFF CORPS.
Colonel E. Puttick, D.S.O., A.D.C. to the King, is granted the temporary rank of Brigadier. Dated 5th January, 1940.
Major A. H. L. Sugden, Commandant, Army School of Instruction, Trentham, is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel while so employed. Dated 14th October, 1940.
Captain A. P. McCormack relinquishes the appointments of Assistant Area Officer, No. 11 Area, and Adjutant, The Otago University Medical Company, N.Z.M.C., Dunedin, is appointed Area Staff Officer, No. 9 Area, Nelson, and is granted the temporary rank of Major while so employed. Dated 14th October, 1940.
Captain R. J. Eyre, Commandant, Southern Military District School of Instruction, Burnham, is granted the temporary rank of Major while so employed. Dated 14th October, 1940.
Captain J. H. Sharp, Staff Officer, Supplies and Transport, Army Headquarters, is granted the temporary rank of Major while so employed. Dated 14th October, 1940.
Captain R. J. D. Davis, Instructor, Army School of Instruction, Trentham, is granted the temporary rank of Major while so employed. Dated 14th October, 1940.
Captain E. E. Lloyd, General Staff Officer, 2nd Grade, Southern Military District, Christchurch, is granted the temporary rank of Major while so employed. Dated 14th October, 1940.

Colonel R. Miles, D.S.O., M.C., is granted the temporary rank of Brigadier. Dated 1st March, 1940.
Captain J. P. Joyce, D.C.M., Staff Officer, Artillery, Army Headquarters, is granted the temporary rank of Major while so employed. Dated 14th October, 1940.
Lieutenant and Quartermaster (temp.) F. A. Wetherall, M.B.E., Deputy Assistant Quartermaster-General, Northern Military District, Auckland, is granted the temporary rank of Captain and Quartermaster while so employed. Dated 14th October, 1940.

Lieutenant and Quartermaster (acting Captain and Quartermaster) G. P. O’Leary, attached to the Quartermaster-General’s Branch, Army Headquarters, is granted the temporary rank of Captain and Quartermaster while so employed. Dated 14th October, 1940.
Lieutenant and Quartermaster J. W. McMurray, Chief Instructor, Northern Military District School of Instruction, Narrow Neck, is granted the temporary rank of Captain and Quartermaster while so employed. Dated 14th October, 1940.
Lieutenant and Quartermaster T. A. S. McKenzie, General Staff Officer, 3rd Grade, Southern Military District, Christchurch, is granted the temporary rank of Captain and Quartermaster while so employed. Dated 14th October, 1940.
Lieutenant and Quartermaster G. F. McCulloch, M.B.E., Adjutant and Instructor, Army School of Instruction, Trentham, is granted the temporary rank of Captain and Quartermaster while so employed. Dated 14th October, 1940.
Lieutenant and Quartermaster W. F. Sellen, Assistant Area Officer, No. 5 Area, and Adjutant, 1st Battalion, The Wellington Regiment (City of Wellington’s Own), is granted the temporary rank of Captain and Quartermaster while so employed. Dated 14th October, 1940.
Lieutenant and Quartermaster G. W. O’Sullivan, General Staff Officer, 3rd Grade, Army Headquarters, is granted the temporary rank of Captain and Quartermaster while so employed. Dated 14th October, 1940.
Lieutenant and Quartermaster (temp.) A. Holmes, Adjutant, Queen Alexandra’s (Wellington West Coast) Mounted Rifles, is granted the temporary rank of Captain and Quartermaster while so employed. Dated 14th October, 1940.
N.Z. ARMY ORDNANCE CORPS.
Captain S. B. Wallace, B.E., Chief Ordnance Mechanical Engineer, Trentham, is granted the temporary rank of Major while so employed. Dated 14th October, 1940.
Hon. Lieutenant J. W. Evers, to be Lieutenant and Quartermaster, is appointed Assistant to the Chief Ordnance Mechanical Engineer, Trentham, and is granted the temporary rank of Captain and Quartermaster while so employed. Dated 14th October, 1940.
Lieutenant and Quartermaster S. Thomson, Officer in Charge Workshops, Northern Military District, Devonport, is granted the temporary rank of Captain and Quartermaster while so employed. Dated 14th October, 1940.

Lieutenant A. D. Leighton, Ordnance Officer (Provision), Main Ordnance Depot, Trentham, is granted the temporary rank of Captain while so employed. Dated 14th October, 1940.

Major I. R. Withell, N.Z. Army Ordnance Corps, is appointed Chief Inspector of Munitions in addition to his appointment as Inspecting Ordnance Officer. Dated 21st October, 1940.
Lieutenant-Colonel D. G. S. Urnson, O.B.E., N.Z. Temporary Staff, relinquishes the appointment of General Staff Officer, 2nd Grade (Operations), Army Headquarters, Wellington, on rejoining the Indian Army. Dated 27th September, 1940.
