N.Z. TEMPORARY STAFF.
The notices published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 98, dated 12th September, 1940, relative to Lieutenant-Colonel F. K. Turnbull, D.S.O., M.C., are cancelled and the following substituted :—
“ Lieutenant-Colonel F. K. Turnbull, D.S.O., M.C., to be Lieutenant-Colonel, with pay and allowances of a Major, and is attached to No. 2 Training Battalion, Mobilization Camp, Trentham. Dated 27th July, 1940.
“ Lieutenant-Colonel F. K. Turnbull, D.S.O., M.C. (with pay and allowances of a Major), is appointed Officer Commanding, No. 3 Training Battalion, Mobilization Camp, Trentham, vice Lieutenant-Colonel L. H. Jardine, D.S.O., M.C. Dated 31st August, 1940.”
Major R. F. Mitchell, M.C., V.D., relinquishes the appointment of Second in Command, No. 2 Training Battalion, Mobilization Camp, Trentham, is appointed Officer Commanding, No. 1 Training Battalion, Mobilization Camp, Trentham, with the pay and allowances of a Major while so employed. Dated 5th September, 1940.
Captain H. S. Harrison, Quartermaster, Mobilization Camp, Papakura, is granted the temporary rank of Major while so employed. Dated 15th October, 1940.
Major J. P. E. Veale, V.D., Reserve of Officers, N.Z. Artillery, to be Major, and is appointed Officer Commanding, No. 3 Training Battalion, Mobilization Camp, Burnham. Dated 2nd September, 1940.
Major H. Henderson, E.D., The Canterbury Regiment, to be Major, and is appointed Second in Command, No. 3 Training Battalion, Mobilization Camp, Burnham. Dated 2nd September, 1940.
Captain J. F. Moffatt, The Canterbury Regiment, to be Captain, and is appointed Adjutant, No. 3 Training Battalion, Mobilization Camp, Burnham. Dated 2nd September, 1940.
Lieutenant W. M. Hocking, to be Captain. Dated 14th October, 1940.
Captain W. J. A. Morris, Reserve of Officers, The Hawke’s Bay Regiment, to be Lieutenant, and is appointed Quartermaster, No. 3 Training Battalion, Mobilization Camp, Trentham. Dated 19th October, 1940.
2nd Lieutenant A. J. Kerse, to be Lieutenant. Dated 19th October, 1940.
James Cruse, late N.Z. Army Service Corps, to be Lieutenant, and is appointed Motor Transport Technical Officer, Waiouru Military Camp. Dated 11th October, 1940.
2nd Lieutenant D. MacIntyre, The North Auckland Regiment, to be Lieutenant, and is appointed Adjutant, 1st Battalion, The North Auckland Regiment. Dated 14th October, 1940.
Captain H. a’C. G. Fitzgerald, N.Z. Dental Corps, ceases to be attached to the Royal N.Z. Air Force Station, Wigram, on being seconded to the 2nd N.Z. Expeditionary Force. Dated 14th October, 1940.
Captain H. C. M. Matthews, The Auckland (East Coast) Mounted Rifles, to be Captain, and is appointed Adjutant, The Auckland (East Coast) Mounted Rifles. Dated 23rd September, 1940.
Captain R. N. Cox, N.Z. Dental Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Dental Officer, Mobilization Camp, Trentham, and is appointed Dental Officer, Mobilization Camp, Ngaruawahia. Dated 3rd October, 1940.
Captain W. V. Quane, Retired List, to be Captain, and is appointed Officer in Charge, Sick and Wounded Records, Northern Military District, Auckland. Dated 7th October, 1940.
Lieutenant (acting Captain) A. Hirschhorn to be Captain. Dated 10th October, 1940.
Lieutenant R. D. Boyes to be Captain. Dated 14th October, 1940.
Robert Thomson St. Lawrence (late Royal Army Service Corps) to be Captain, Motor Transport Section, and is seconded for duty as Orderly Officer to the Inspector-General, N.Z. Military Forces. Dated 21st October, 1940.
Captain E. G. Thompson, B.D.S., N.Z. Dental Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Dental Officer, Mobilization Camp, Burnham, and is attached to the Royal N.Z. Air Force Station, Wigram. Dated 15th October, 1940.
