  1. The members of the Board shall at their first meeting, and thereafter at the annual meeting hereinafter mentioned, elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of his successor.

  2. Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman, provided that two days’ notice of such meeting is given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting; and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

  3. Any four members of the Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

  4. All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes of the members of the Board present at the meeting.

  5. If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose one of their number to be chairman for such meeting.

  6. If by resignation, death, incapacity, or otherwise, the seat of any member shall be or become vacant, or if any member absents himself, without reasonable cause, from three consecutive meetings of the Board, the Governor-General shall have power to appoint any other person to be a member of the Board in his stead.

  7. The Board shall prepare and submit at an annual meeting to be held in the month of April in each year a report of the proceedings of the Board for the previous year ending on the thirty-first day of March, together with a statement of the receipts and expenditure of the Board for such year. A copy of every such report and statement, certified by the Chairman to be correct, shall be sent to the Minister in Charge of Scenery Preservation as soon as possible after each annual meeting.

  8. The Board shall control the said reserve in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and of the regulations made thereunder.

LAKE KANIERE SCENIC RESERVE.—WESTLAND LAND DISTRICT.

Reserve 1177, Blocks VI, VII, X, XI, XII, XV, and XVI, Kaniere Survey District: Area, 18,300 acres, more or less.

Reserve 1411, Block XI, Kaniere Survey District: Area, 21 acres, more or less.

Reserve 1211 (formerly part Reserve 913), Block XI, Kaniere Survey District: Area, 74 acres, more or less.

Reserve 1774, Block XI, Kaniere Survey District: Area, 3 acres, more or less.

Reserve 1775, Blocks XI and XII, Kaniere Survey District: Area, 11 acres 2 roods, more or less.

Also Reserve 1795, Block XI, Kaniere Survey District: Area, 28 acres 1 rood 25 perches, more or less.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 14th day of October, 1940.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the following appointments, promotions, transfers, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Military Forces:—

N.Z. TEMPORARY STAFF.

Captain C. J. H. Davidson, Retired List, to be Captain, and is appointed Cypher Officer, Army Headquarters, Wellington. Dated 23rd September, 1940.

Lieutenant E. W. George, M.C., Retired List, to be Lieutenant, and is appointed District Engineer Works Officer, Southern Military District. Dated 14th September, 1940.

2nd Lieutenant (temp.) J. Graham, 2nd Composite Company, N.Z. Army Service Corps, to be 2nd Lieutenant, and is appointed Assistant District Supply Officer, Central Military District, Wellington. Dated 2nd September, 1940.

Moss Wylie to be Lieutenant, N.Z. Dental Corps, and is appointed Dental Officer, Mobilization Camp, Papakura. Dated 30th September, 1940.

Lieutenant H. G. Lynch, B.D.S., N.Z. Dental Corps, ceases to be attached to the Royal N.Z. Air Force Station, Hobsonville, and is attached to the Royal N.Z. Air Force Station, Whenuapai. Dated 2nd October, 1940.
