to be Clerk of the Magistrates’ Court at Putaruru for the purposes of the Magistrates’ Courts Act, 1928, and Maintenance Officer at the Magistrates’ Court at Putaruru for the purposes of the Destitute Persons Amendment Act, 1926, on and from the 1st day of October, 1940.
Constable James Leonard Brown
to be Bailiff of the Magistrates’ Court at Paeroa for the purposes of the Magistrates’ Courts Act, 1928, on and from the 19th day of September, 1940.

Notice under the National Savings Act, 1940, Section 4.
Wellington, 8th October, 1940.
IN terms of section 4 of the National Savings Act, 1940, I, Walter Nash, Minister of Finance, hereby prescribe that the first investment period shall run from the date of publication of this notice in the Gazette to the 30th June, 1941. The rate of interest to be paid on investments made during such investment period shall be 3 per cent.
Moneys invested during such investment period by deposit in an investment account shall be repayable on the 30th day of June, 1945.
National Savings Bonds issued during such investment period shall be repayable five years after the date of issue thereof.

Wellington, 8th October, 1940.
IN terms of section 5 of the National Savings Act, 1940, I, Walter Nash, Minister of Finance, hereby authorize the trustees of the undermentioned savings-banks (being savings-banks constituted under the Savings-banks Act, 1908) to receive investments by way of deposits in investment accounts under the National Savings Act, 1940, during the investment period expiring on the 30th June, 1941 :-
